Congrats on the 14 rune anyway! Historically for me the only way to get 15 runes was Necromutation+FireStorm. I kinda want to replicate the octolich again but wow it seems really hard to survive at all as an octo now :/

And... V:5 did not go well. Everything was fine until I had to deal with 2 vault wardens at once; died before the teleport could kick in. I guess I should have read teleportation as soon as I saw there were two, without even trying to kill them.

I tripled my wins from the previous tournament! Unfortunately, after the good start I got some really terrible losses (including one really lame death in Zot), and that got my strength of will, I never won again.

It was really good to see your games and I enjoyed playing together. I'll miss the tournament, I like to play in a group much more than alone.

Yes I had fun. And could bask in the glory of y'all's wins. I got a combo highscore at least for MfBe; and I wonder if I could have won it had I settled for 3 runes. But congrats to all my teammates!

Fun tourney, all, and thanks especially to Moanerette once again for setting up the clan. I had some highs (under 30,000 for a 3 runer, I think a first for me) and not-so-highs (could NOT get a streak going to save my life). Definitely find tourney and clan play more fun -- this is pretty much the only time I play these days.

Thanks to everyone for playing, I'm glad we all had fun and propelled the clan to a respectable 29th out of 121. Maybe we'll get all the uniques next time!

I was not aware that unique hunting is your thing, otherwise I surely would have created some chars to hunt down Ignacio and Dissolution. Next time I will focus on this category more! (I am a Nemelex Combo fun myself. Maybe next time we will win more of those!)

I really like these separte categories. I think it makes it fun for a wide variety of people, focusing on the competition in different goals.

I got Dissolution; three missing were Ignacio, Khufu and Serpent of Hell.

Ha, it isn't particularly, it's just that last time I noticed we got 79. And this time 78. I think that's very good, only a couple of players manage 81.

We only need to attempt more 15 runers to get those. I never went to extended, partially because it is contrary to my Nemelex Combo goals.

Is this happening again this time?

While I am happy to join if Moanerette makes the group again, I will not be very active in this tournament. Unfortunately I will be busy in the middle week.

I will put the requisite lines in my RC file for "TavernSnacks" for anyone who'd like to continue this -- I've appreciated Moanerette's setting this up before, so I guess that's the least I can do. I, too, will probably not have as much time as last tourney to play, but I usually squeeze in more than I think. Didn't steal my thunder at all, I was happy to see it. I'm in the clan now, with a FeDe of Qazlal (curse my attraction to faded altars) I don't expect to last too much longer.

All I can say that new spider seems brutal. Zot 5 is also very scary. Big axes help a lot though.

I had a trove that asked for a demon whip, and I did not found a single demon whip in the game.
I dropped some items before entering a portal (Tukima's studio), because I wanted to have space for the occasional loot. Unfortunately, I also dropped my axe, and entered barehanded. It took me a while to notice -- I had to escape. After that I learned the inscription to prevent dropping items.

Congrats to both. We'll see how long my HO^Yred lasts (first time with new Yred so learning on the job so to speak).

There went that. Got Sentinel's Marked in Snake:4. My bound anaconda fought bravely to cover my retreat, but, yeah, naga sharpshooters. Guess I should have read ?tele sooner.

Seems like you're all being more adventurous than me -- nabbed another win with 10 runes, but it was a Gr, so much easier. Didn't intend to get the Abyssal rune (I hate the Abyss and mutations now -- not sure if anything changed, but I've racked up a ton of mutations recently any time I've gone there) -- just got banished and found it lying around on my way out. Thought about going for 15, but I'd used up all my potions of mutation and had some bad ones, and I've heard Hells are much worse now, so I got while the getting was good.

Hmm I think HOs are easier than Grs. And I wasn't trying to be adventurous, just didn't want to be deityless for too long. But congrats again!

Can anyone explain the deal with new Yred piety? My HuWn keeps fluctuating back to zero stars, which is a problem cos I was relying on those undead to see it through the early game.

edit - ha, just reading it now. "Piety now solely based on the number and strength of allied zombies in sight".

I am currently splatting a lot of attempts at a fast run (per my usual in tournaments), and realizing just how much these depend on luck for a middling player like myself. Oh, well.

Though, if you enslave a soul, I believe it does count for piety; so you'll then likely start each floor at *.....

Can't believe I won on my first attempt this tournament! I've been trying to win as a TrWr in trunk some time before the tournament and did *not* succeed then.

I did once. And seriously considered calling it a tournament since I figured I wasn't improving my winrate score realistically.

Thought I posted earlier, but I must have messed up. Thanks, Tavern Snacks, for another tourney rollercoaster. I didn't check in very often on the forum, I'm afraid, but I certainly checked out how you all were doing on the tournament page. I have personally added the new Hells to Tomb on my list of places that I'm officially unable to deal with. I took a shot with a VS of Zin, my old standby for extended, managed to get into each Hell and to the bottom of one, then chickened out and went for the 3 rune win. Strangely enough, I ended up in exactly the same position on the scoring table overall as last tourney.

Sorry I wasn't more help; is it just me, or has L:1 gotten a lot more deadly? (My last character encountered a spiny frog and two hydrae there.) Congrats to all, though, and especially to Strat on 58th place; pleasure playing with you all as always. And placing 22nd as a team is quite good, no?
