The Conjurer Challenge

I've heard it claimed before that orb of destruction can win you the game. Let's put this claim to the test.

THE CONJURER CHALLENGE

Win a game only using conjurations-only spells. More specifically:


    You may only cast or memorize spells exclusively in the conjurations school. This means only magic dart, searing ray, Iskenderun's mystic blast and orb of destruction are allowed

    You may not attack with any weapons or ammo (wielding artefacts for resists etc. is kosher, just make sure to inscribe with !a to avoid old tabits).

    You may not use any evocables except for evocable invisibility and wands of hasting, heal wounds, teleportation and digging. If this sounds too easy, change this to "all evocables are prohibited."

    Damage dealing and summoning god abilities are not allowed (so e.g. Qazlal and Ru are out due to passive damage). "Encounter-ending" abilities such as Ely's heal other and Lugonu's banishment are also prohibited. If this sounds too easy, change this to "worshipping a god is prohibited."

The conjurer background is recommended but not mandatory. Please feel free to ask me whether a certain ability is allowed, and please mention any possible oversights.

I'm honestly not surprised that this has been proposed before but I think it could be fun for current tavern users to try.

Being forced to kill every rat and bat and orc with spells is not fun. The whole game will be tedious, repetitive grinding, and if you don't get OOD, you have to throw away the character and start all over again.

But at least there's automagic now.
Don't count on me though, even my FeFe of Veh and HEWz of Sif were more about melee.

I've done it eons ago when you had only magic missile in the starting book and vehumet gifted books, so you had either to kill half of lair with mm or wait a lucky drop or hope for the first sif gift.
I don't know why I've done it and how managed to not suicide.
Nowdays with searying ray and mystic blast in the starting book is a joke

Put automagic_enable = true in your rc file.
Now tab will automatically cast the spell on 'a'.

Or you could just macro tab to "z a f" for the same effect i guess.

This automagic option convinced me to give it a try ! (and also the fact that I want the Conjurations 27 title...)

This is my attempt so far, picked up Te for extra speed and good Cj aptitude. I wielded my book of Conjurations until I found this staff to prevent any accidental hit ;) I have an awful turncount because I wanted to lose some Veh piety and get IOoD as a spell gift... this did finally happen :D

Next location will be Shoals, then maybe Spider or Elf
