CLAN trunk VpAs done.

Apparently some funny man had logged in, switched from Nemelex to Sif Muna and then left it there.

I don't know who else played it but it was pretty strong and well-built vampire. So grats for that guy and for the griefer, fuck you very much.

Wait VpAs^nemelex?
Most probably it's the one I did start and left later on lair:1 but man was like one month ago or even more!
I guess I should list here what I start on clan
I wonder why some body switched to sif, she was one of the shittiest gods for that char at that point - and generally speaking there really was no sane reason to leave nemelex at that point

CLAN is now CUE, hosted at underhound.eu. It changed to a different manager a while back. You can still access it at lantea.net though.

Re: Comborobin

You have an awesome character with 3 runes ready to win the next-to-last DS. Do you:

(a) Run Zot and win?

(b) Take victory Tour in Slime and Abyss first?

Or (c) ZIG FOR NO REASON!

http://dobrazupa.org/morgue/comborobin/ ... 063945.txt

or, got a winnable DsEn, the other background left? Doing great with Dith and Hexes? Why not try to turn it into a Chei transmuter and splat on V5?

46819 | Vaults:2 | Werew: You abandon dith?
46831 | Vaults:2 | comborobin: yes
46852 | Vaults:2 | comborobin: go look at what i am doing right now and tell me it was a bad decision
47117 | Vaults:2 | Werew: Well, I was sorta wondering why dith in the first place
47193 | Vaults:2 | comborobin: because araganzar likes his stabbers apparently
47193 | Vaults:2 | comborobin: and dith is neat for hexers

It was a bad decision.

It really is sad that some sadistic and talentless fucking nerd gets something out of quitting games. Maybe he just doesn't have any substance in his life. We should create a new open account for him, 'nerdquitter'. I could even volunteer to play the game or two in that account for him to quit. How does 5 runes sound, asshole? You come in your pants if I let you quit a five rune game?

Seriously.. For protecting future games, again sadly, switching passwords seem to be best way to go, Xen.

Re: Comborobin

It's not just 12 hours blown here - DgEE had 72 previous attempts before this character finally made it to XL27. Only to be control-q'd by a miserable griefer. Whatta world...

It would be a shame to turn a round-robin account into an invite-only deal, but if this griefing is allowed to continue, it will have a chilling effect on people wanting to play hard combos. And as we move into the final quarter of the project, that will be more of a concern than ever. So I guess I would be in favor of changing the password.

Of course if we decided to move to a private password, distributing it presents a few challenges. We wouldn't want to give it out over tileschat as chats may be logged, and even if not, the griefer could lurk as anonymous spectator and wait for the password to be transmitted. Then there is the option of using PMs on the Tavern to distribute it, but not everyone may have a Tavern account...

Seeing as we have very few anonymous players (as evidenced by very few holes in the google chart) just doing PMs via Tavern should be fine. I'd be in favour.

I don't understand how to read the google doc in the original post; are you referring to some different one? I've been doing some anonymous comborobin games (won MuFi/FeEn on CAO). I don't really hang out on Tavern at all, but if you guys do end up changing the password I'd be happy to have it sent to me as well. It's nice to have an account I can just drop into for a casual game when my main accounts are busy with a tournament or whatever; I wouldn't be surprised if there were a number of other players who play comborobin just casually. So it'd be a shame to change the password, if it discourages such people from participating, but obviously it's not your fault if someone else is vandalizing the project.

Re: Comborobin

Hoping the little motherfucker quitter doesn't read this topic, I've started a game after a long time: it's a MuEE^Gozag on xtahua.
It's well hybridized, and barring the lack of a source of haste (not considering gozag pots) very very strong (for being a mu) by now. You can do whatever you want, just be aware there's learny (and lots of hydras) awake and wandering on S:4. I'd raise evo and buy some evokers from those shops but whatever you do can work.

Oh also, I've bought the best stick of wiz\enhancer\bashing when I entered Lair I could hope for:
  Code:
+4 lajatang of Blind Justice {slice, +Inv rN+ Int+11 Dex-5, !a}

but now actually use that +9 elec lajatang to hit things and that one only as staff of wiz\enhancer.

I'd be in favor of the stated option. I have seen griefing a few times, but nothing like this. No reason to keep it wide open, under the circumstances, if a simple request gets you in. But I'd recommend only considering players with established profiles, and that you make the decision, Xen.

Re: Comborobin

Okay, I changed the password for all the comborobin accounts (except CWZ and LLD), and distributed the new password to some people already.
It's too bad it had to come to this, but hopefully it will take care of the griefer. Password sharing rules are loose right now; anyone may share it with trustworthy people by PM (by this I mean..people with some kind of reasonable tavern/reddit post history or history of winning on comborobin in the past).

Also, if you want to know the password: post in this thread, PM me, or add your name to the 'password access' page in the comborobin spreadsheet.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... 21&vpid=A1

I want to keep track of who has the password. If you send it to someone by PM, please add their name to the spreadsheet.

its amazing how invested you can get into a character just by watching it for a long time, i was emotionally invested in that DgEE almost as much as i was into implojin's MuMo. at least when the latter had a death and was probably avoidable just by tossing the challenge aside for one turn but he stood in the rain true to himself to the end. seeing a full health character get quit just left me feeling empty.

hurricos is a machine though, the current one is already at time 80000, you can't slow down the robin.

Can someone please explain to me why CSZO comborobins can't use vi keys to move? Like, whose terrible .rc has "l" and other movement keys mapped to some kind of spell macro? And why can't I get it to go away?

For anyone else who runs into this, I solved this problem by using ~k to set a key's binding back to itself, and then ~m to clear the macro attached to that key. Don't ask me why this works.

macros aren't in the rc, they're in the macros file. Whenever I log onto a robin I just delete the entire macros file (":%d", ":wq" in virus)

Reached 70% completion today! At this time Humans are tied with Felids as the least won race, with 11 wins each. Su and FE are the least won backgrounds, with 10 and 11 wins respectively.
Surprisingly, Ha is the least played race and has the highest win rate with 14 wins in 40 games.

Who is attempting DgAE on CDO trunk console? I have clearly started a game that is already close to winning but i didn't have the time to finish it this weekend. Apparently not many cr players check that Google Spreadsheet. I do not know how to contact the fella since its on console and i have no idea who he is.

If anyone of you know, do contact him and tell him to pick some other combo. Its frustratingly stupid to play several hours for possible zero benefit for this account.

Now that an experimental race is online you should try to get at least a single win, IIRC someone commented in here that there is a special title for accounts with experimental species wins.

I'd appreciate if someone would PM me the new PW. I always play on CAO or Crawl-S-Z .

Re: Comborobin

I see on your stat page that you don't have any wins yet, and this is your first post on tavern. I would suggest grabbing your first few wins, and perhaps hanging out on cszo tileschat a bit, before participating in comborobin. This is my polite way of saying I think you ought to prove yourself a little bit more before we give you the password.

I'm not the final authority on this (and I apologize if I'm stepping on Xen's toes as comborobin admin) but due to the griefer, we've needed to be a bit more cautious about who we allow on the account. I hope you can take these words in the spirit I intend them, not as a personal sleight, but a friendly challenge to come get to know us on CSZO and become skilled enough at the game to win consistently.

Sent the password to you.

Elmdor summed it up nicely, unfortunately we need to have security given comborobin's griefer problem.

What I can do, potentially, is reopen one of the servers to anyone and everyone. For instance, I could change the CAO password back to "robin". But I'll only do that if everyone who currently has the password agrees to it.

Re: Comborobin

We are steadily approaching the goal. A long way still, but we're getting there.

I suggest Xen could take the honor of winning the very last game. Whatever combo that may be. :)

Greater Vinestalker!

Very odd thing about the last VS: I played three VS in rapid succession. All three of them found early amulet of vitality, the best possible item for VS!

the amulet of Vitality (around neck) {Regen+ HP+15, !*}
(You found it on level 5 of the Dungeon)

the cursed amulet of Vitality (around neck) {Regen+ HP+15}
(You found it on level 11 of the Dungeon)

the amulet of Vitality (around neck) {Regen+ HP+15}
(You took it off a crimson imp on level 11 of the Dungeon)
