So the .16 Tournament is starting and I am excited and wanna play but didn't see any Clan threads for it so I thought I'd start one!

Good job getting this rolling. If you set up a clan and want me ( avg player ), I'd be happy to join.

I'm definitely up for a bit of clannishness, and will refresh on how to set one up.

I don't know how to set one up, but I'd like to be in a clan if anyone is looking -- pretty mediocre player (~20 wins), but I enjoyed the clan bit last time around if anyone isn't overly interested in performance.

If anyone has a casual clan with an opening, I'd like to join it. I'll probably only play a few wanderers so I dont get burnt out before csdc happens

I'd love to join a casual as well, I tend to play a ton so hopefully I'll get at least one viable game

I believe so, the rules have a note:

Code:: Note: clan membership lines can be added to your 0.16 rcfile on any of the public servers. If you add clan membership lines to more than one rcfile, then the rcfile on the server earliest in the list CSZO, CAO, CBRO, CDO, CLN, CPO, CWZ, CXC, LLD will take precedence.

I've created Team Evil (awesome suggestion, edgefigaro) and added the aforementioned players. Made the assumption you'll be playing under the same names (case sensitive!) Let me know, otherwise!

Suits me, cerealjynx, and the clan name is fine. Been on a Crawl break for a few weeks, so should be full of enthusiasm.

Considering you have 20 times as many wins as I have, I very much doubt it. It's about fun and mutual encouragement anyway, no stress. I got my only win to date right at the end of the last tourney, so hopefully I can add to that.

So, looking through the scoring page, I find the banners to be my objective during the tournament. There are more banners than one person has time to go for, as well as some that are beyond my abilities (4 streak? hahano), and I would like the clan to have cooridnated efforts to get as many lvl 3 banners as possible.

I doubt I could manage any of these, but the 'Champion 13 gods' one might be doable as that's weighted in favour of people with a lot of free time, and I like variety, so I'll keep that in mind. One thing I like to do is try and nab a few high scores for unpopular combos (especially IE), as in combos where you don't necessarily have to win to get the high score.

Also, it's that long since I've seen Shaolin Soccer that I didn't realise that's where the team name comes from! Excellent choice.

I had a lot of fun in a clan in the 0.14 tourney and kind of missed it in 0.15, so I'd love to join one now. I've yet to win, but I play a ton.

I've added cerealjynx as captain my captain in .rc file. Lets have some fun!

I want to join as well. Hopefully I will win at least one game, too.

Hey guys! I'm looking for a clan that is competitive-ish, but still looking to have a good time. Experience: I have won with all 26 races, but my best streak is only 2. I don't consider myself to be that good a player, but I have put a fair bit of time into the game. I don't know too much about the scoring system for the tourney, but will happily pursue whatever the clan might designate to be high priority.

Well, my warmup game is going better than anticipated, and I have to go out tonight, so I'll probably switch to a different server. Otherwise I'm liable to spend half the first weekend finishing this non-tourney character. I knew I should have waited. I suppose I could just kill it.

If any casual groups are still looking to fill a spot, I'm interested.

I was an hour late on a VSVM win before it filled up two days ago.

Yesterday, I hit zot 5 on a HOAM and it filled. as I was clearing. So I try for the golden rune w/ orb challenge.

I tele right next to the gold rune and am 3 spaces away. A greater mummy summons 3 emperor scorpions. I die.

I have been one step behind this whole tournament. Frustrated.

My condolences. It seems like more people are going for the nem bonus, maybe it's time to raise the cap a little?

Sorry, Team Evil -- my own inimitable brand of lameness strikes twice. I've had two high-point combo (DgIE and DrFE) with three runes and was unable to finish things with either one. Congrats to fearitself, traveller, and edgefigaro for your wins so far, and I'll keep plugging away.

Don't even stress, Strat! I am doing even worse, just to make you all look better. Cuz that's the kinda captain I am.

Likewise I crashed a formidable-seeming FoFi by taking it to Slime and pissing about instead of heading for Zot with my three runes. Maybe I'll learn one day!

You are not obligated to play Nemelex choice. Initially I was going to play Nemelex choice only but soon found that I am too slow with usual play and that I become a really bad player when in hurry so I switched to doing other things. You can specialize in your clan, go for Zig 27 or extremely hard species, for example. Just make sure to check rules, as I learned Ascetic III banner is not shown for clan

Golden rune with Orb gives too few points IMHO, it is really easy to die there.

I'm good, this tournament has been a blast. Took a MiEE to 2 runes on a no-god run this morning, going for the trog banner, died to TRJ. I was pushing under the gun on the nemelex stuff over the weekend as I've got much less time during the week.

I'm going at the tournament trying to get as many lvl 3 banners as I can. I'm having a lot of fun doing this, point scoring be damned. There are so many fun challenges to do. Kiku challenge (no lair/orc/temple) run --> first rune iron (gozag challenge) looks promising.

Finally got a win in! I ended up going for the 'no skills over 20' banner, but got a little excited about a hairy ascension, and dodging went up to 20.4, haha. Jeez.

Nice win, cerealjynx! A lot of you are much more adventurous than me, that's for sure -- I tend to just look at the high point value species/background/god combos left and try to figure out what might be within my meager skill-set. I did just start a VSMo of Zin in the hopes of grabbing some new, untouched-by-me runes this run, but I should take a lead from some of you and try something challenging just for the heck of it.

Thanks for getting the clan set up, Cereal. The tourney was great fun and we did reasonably well. Personally, I was pleased with a 2 game streak (I'm no Walkerboh), my highest single game score, and with getting the 72 unique banner.

Can't wait for the next tournament but first a couple week break.
