I'm playing catch-up on challenges right now, and some new stuff is in trunk. Is it fair game to learn new spells like "Summon Forest" that weren't available to other players during this challenge?

My personal standpoint is that you should feel free to use any advantage you can get. Some of us did not have to deal with new Snake / Swamp during this challenge. This is just how it goes...

Yeah you can use whatever is available to you. I think overall trunk is harder now if anything so I'm not too concerned.

Battlesphere just got switched from Level 4 to Level 5 in trunk. It was a nasty surprise to find that out in the middle of a combat in Snake. I made it through, and luckily I've gotten to a point where I'm no longer relying on it quite so heavily. Thanks, +8,+10 quick blade of Contention {drain, rElec rPois MR++ Stlth-}.

Completed with 7 runes and 141199 turns and both challenges. Man, quickblades take forever. Cocytus was just awful until I picked up Control Undead, and then it became a walk in the park.

I think I would have been able to get 15 runes, but 7 was where I got the best challenge bonus points without taking forever, and I still have three more challenges to catch up on.

Congrats! Also, I notice that Bart set the DgCj high score in his game. :)

Yeah, RNG was generous and gave me a lot of goodies. I had to tune my gameplay slightly to these goodies, but overall it turned really nice. I could cut turn count by 20% easily, but I was slacking off in order to safely win with this character. Unusually to me, iron shot was my main weapon and with good spellpower it sufficed to kill even (non-unique) pan lords easily.
