Thoughts?

Does anyone think this is worth adding? I spent some hours on it, and tried to stick as close as possible to the tile. I did tweak the palette, though.

The lit-up hand has some little sparks but at least I can't appreciate it here due to the background color.

One thing sort of gets me about this, though I guess it's just a matter of taste: I think it might look better if she had those blank stone eyes. As in:



Obviously plenty of statues have carved or painted pupils, but maybe this might make it clearer that she's made of stone, instead of just a normal woman in a very purple room.

Either way I'll definitely be adding it, it looks great.

At an early-ish point of development I considered the blank statue eyes, but decided against it on two reasons:

1) Too much Storm-like
2) Precludes a dramatic gesture element.

I also know that the piece doesn't reflect at all the fact that she's made out of sapphire; but since neither my artistic acumen nor the medium at hand are particularly well-suited (putting it mildly) to represent such a complex subject, I decided it would be better to not even try, lest I also suffered a catastrophic spell failure
