Eating named characters!

Once you defeat a tough ( or easy ) named character it can be very satisfying, especially when starving to chop them up and eat them.

I've always thought it would be good to get a unique message each time you eat them, i'd be interested in writing the text, but as I have no programming skills i didn't know if this would be easy / something the devs would implement.

If it sounds good i'll start thinking of some, although others will probably come up witj better messages.

It is great idea and I want to expand a little...

- Eating uniques can cause more extensive effects.
- Bad as well as good (mutations, blessings, curses, basically any effect/spell in game can be used here with much fun).
- Temporary or permanent.
- Different for each species, classes and religions.
- And totally unpredictable in some cases.

I think gaining effects from eating corpses a la nethack is not something the devs want to implement for crawl.

I'm pretty sure it would be pretty easy to implement additional flavor text on eating specific things. Coding wouldn't be the problem. The main hurdles would be complaints that we don't need additional flavor text (message spam bad!), and actually coming up with messages that are funny or otherwise good enough to bother implementing.

I'd say your best bet would be to try and produce a small sample of these messages, and see if they're well received.
