Re: Round robin Sprint map

Might it be easier to organize a round robin like this using a subvault for each room, like sprints 2 and 3, or am I crazy (I imagine it'd get a bit messy what with everyone adding to a single monolithic vault)? This also makes it so as long as people who want to design the same room can agree on a layout, both of their takes can get in, though this may be more trouble than it's worth.

Re: Round robin Sprint map

What a great idea. I haven't played Sprint much, but I guess the point is not to try and make an excellent map in one go, but just have some fun. So I continue with the following:

  Code:
NAME:   dungeon_sprint_robin
TAGS:   sprint no_item_gen no_trap_gen no_monster_gen no_pool_fixup no_rotate no_hmirror no_vmirror
DESC:   Sprint Round Robin
ORIENT: encompass
MAP
xxxxx
x{[(x
x...x
xT.Tx
xx+xx
m...m
+...+
m...m
xm+mx
ENDMAP

That should give people a lot of room for creativity. :)

Re: Round robin Sprint map

I read the introduction.txt file but the sample map there was different from this - the header had lists of monsters and items, and then these were placed using numbers. I don't see that in these maps.

Okay, I see now - syntax.txt is also important.

It seems workable, if not too easy, for most builds and any that can't handle it can go to another first room.

edit: ugh the forum formatting ignored the spacing I put in -- use the "quote" function or re-add spacing yourself if you want to continue this
