It's general knowledge among game developers, professional and amateur alike, that games would work much better without those pesky players.

Re: Poll: Remove players from DCSS

Goblins & Hobgoblins Local 135 has been lobbying for this for years! Why not just brick up the dungeon entrance rather than expecting us to try to keep the riff raff out. Or just station a Balrug in the entrance chamber.

But does Management listen to us? Nooooo. Instead they leave us scattered around the dungeon, and leave powerful weapons and artefacts just lying around for adventurers to find. If Management was REALLY serious about protecting the Orb, they would do things totally differently. We think they are actually in league with the adventurers, all for the amusement of Xom.

I'm just some guy who plays a lot, complains a bit, and makes new accounts whenever the forum autologin forgets me. How was I supposed to keep track of good and evil? At least now I have a convenient marker.

On topic, if there were no more players, what would become of crawl? Piece in art expo? Opera? New brand of chips?

It would be such a cosy, sweet, marvellous, magnificent place!

I guess you know the saying: "Render unto Crawl what is Crawl's, render unto Grimm-san what is Grimm-san's." Would seem best if Grimm-Satan gets all the players, he can certainly make good use of some more souls.

I do have plans to turn CYC into a roguelike. I could use the playerbase.

He only pretends to like it in order to frighten people. In reality he's into Jimmy Buffett.

I don't believe that a supernatural being responsible for the Fall of man exists. But if I did, the idea that he is a hardcore Parrot-head is a lot more disturbing to me than if he was into Iron Maiden or Children of Bodom or whatever.

Poll: Add monkeys to DCSS, not as monsters or players though, as equipment.

Certainly, who in their right mind would build an indestructible monkey, that's just asking for trouble.
