Vehumet should appreciate waiting for 199,999,999 turns and then casting firestorm. The reason for this is that doing this means it will end in hellfire.

Poop-flinging Monkeys; They give you a buff/debuff that makes enemies avoid your general vicinity. Enemies unlucky enough to stay in melee range suffer -10 to Accuracy and Calm Facial Expression checks for the duration. Mnoleg loves (this) shit though and will be able to detect your position at all times if you are in his level with this debuff. The question is, how to find a monkey in Pandemonium.

Re: Generic Brainstorming!

There are plenty of status effects that we're missing. I like yours, I would call it "pooped" and color it brown on the status screen.

Another one I've always thought the game needed was, "has to urinate" After so many potions quaffed, you gain a bonus to speed, and a severe accuracy penalty until you urinate, which forces you to not move for a number of turns, turns the tile you used yellow, and leaves a scent on the tile attracting animals. If you keep drinking and don't urinate, you can die of it.

Another status I wouldn't mind seeing is, "drugged." When drugged, your character is high, and doesn't feel pain or anger. You can't berserk, and your remaining health isn't displayed, however during this statuses duration you also gain a few points of Deep Dwarf style damage shaving. When the status wears off, you are slowed and hungered as though you had been berserk.

And elves should have a status effect of "pretty" which is on at all times, and gives them a bonus to frolicking.
The above post is for entertainment purposes only. If you think anything I ever say is backed by fact, or if you cite things I've said in any argument ever, you are insane.

"Drugged" status should also create colourful visual effects.

I don't play ASCII usually but Brogue's is so damn beautiful. And hallucination is fun. :P Also I like that there's a single enchant scroll you can use on anything. :D

Actually, Brogue's ascii is one of the reasons I stopped playing it. Something about it just...bugged me. I much prefer Crawl's simpler style.

...yes this is exactly what dungeon crawling needed. We already routinely canalize the raw corpses of everything we meet, why not start showing in urine? I hear it has great health benefits for burns, too.

More seriously, I've always wondered why I can't quaff !water over my head to extinguish sticky flame.

Two reasons.
Reason number one is that potion come in tiny little bottles and the amount within them is to small to extinguish flames
Reason number two is that sticky flame is napalm and water reacts with the white phosphorous to continue burning.

This begs the really important questions:

how big is a potion? really? I mean, is it just a small vial? is it like a scientific beaker? Harry Dresden drank his potions from a sports bottle. Is it sealed, like a bottle of wine? Is it open, waiting on the ground for the elements to infest it? If the vials are glass, how do they not make any noise while you move? if they're not glass, how does the cold shatter them?

Here are the answers. Potions are small little plastic vials. Yes Harry Dresden did drink potions from a sports bottle but you are not Harry Dresden. Yes of course the potions are corked, you wouldn't want them to empty when they get knocked over. The reason potions shatter when they get cold is because the liquid in them expands.

There should be an option to just tap a sleeping yaktaur on the shoulder to wake it up. It's not polite to try and wake something up by shouting at it.

Stealing from your future self is a great way to get free stuff seemingly from nowhere.

It sucks when past you catches up and steals it back from you in the first place though. It's notoriously difficult to recover your possessions from a stable time loop. Not to mention how difficult it is to replace something without an origin and of infinite age.

Actually I was just thinking of a mission in Kingdom of Loathing where you have to lure yourself into a back alley, sneak up behind yourself, and steal your own pants. What you came up with is much more interesting.
