A funny thing would be if we wrote monster descriptions for ourselves with this sort of joke resist.

It is not suitable to assign this symbol to me, because I was in the Soviet Union only for a month and two thirds.

By the way, whoever replaced the blue @ with a weird hieroglyph at least should have told us about this action.

Re: Generic Brainstorming!

DC:SS is possibly the only game that doesn't have a capture the flag mode. I propose that a capture the flag gamemode be added to multiplayer. Here is how it works. You have a equal number of players on both teams in a predefined dungeon. Each side has 2 runes. In order to win you have to grab another rune from the other side, battle your way through both the enemy players and the monsters down to the orb chamber, grab the orb and battle your way back up too the top and ascend with it. If you do all this, you have won a round and get a temporary damage boost. 3 rounds in a game. 3 games in a match. The way the turn system works. You get a turn every second and you have to either use that turn in that second or just wait and skip it. If you don't do anything for ~30 seconds you fall asleep. Stabbers get a bonus against you when you are asleep, but you heal faster when asleep. Any class, any species, any combo you want. A well balanced team might include stabbers on a team to assassinate sleeping enemies, warpers to get your team to the battlefield faster, crossbow scouts to get into range of the enemy and pick them off, heavy armor fighters to engage the enemy in direct combat, fast fire elementalists to get close to the enemy cast sticky flame and run. If you die, you respawn after ~25 seconds or so, along with teammates killed at a similar time. Runes are carried in your inventory so you can drop them for a faster player to carry.

Reading what I just wrote, I think I might have been playing a little too much Team Fortress 2 recently.

New armor proposal.
Demon Sweater.
Armor rating: 6. Evasion modifier: -2.
A truly terrible piece of armor, knit in the depths of the inferno. It's a nasty mustard yellow and blue stripy pattern.
It fits demon-spawn well.
It makes you susceptible to fashion sense. (rFS-)

You are welcome to change the brown draconian tile in your copy of crawl. Or you can play with ASCII graphics...

Generic Crawl.
Contains all the regular DC:SS feature you know and enjoy, but also contains all the feature suggested in the Generic Brainstorming thread in Crazy Yiuf's Corner of the DC:SS forums. Also, new unidentified randart description. Plaid. You see here a plaid quickblade.

Change the site's subdomain from "crawl" to something else. These days, whenever someone hears "CDO" they think "cloudsdale.org".

That said, We should set up a Crawl group on CDO.

If there is only the one, I got it recently. It is not finishable by most chars, I wouldn't think, but it is survivable by most. You get quite a bit of warning in the form of ascending difficulty before you bump into that ice fiend, and even then it's fairly escape friendly (lots of twisty passages to break LOS until you can speed boost or tele). I didn't find it unreasonable, not for Crawl.

I don't think that portal needs to be fixed. It isn't easy to beat the demon, but it is easy to survive. I don't have very many deaths in that portal vault because I see that I can't beat that monster and I run. Dungeon Crawl is a hard game and this vault fits with that feel. Orc sorcerers are very powerful and you find them in the early midgame. Does that mean because they are hard they should be removed? No, because with out them orc:4 would be a walk in the park.
