Making the postgame nicer

If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it belongs here. Also, come here if you just need to get hammered.

Making the postgame nicer

I was reading the book "Baby Ice Friends" (or some closely related title) to my kiddo the other day and realized that what the postgame needs is a little more kindness and warmth. "Never gonna let you down," y'know?

So: I propose changing all occurrences of "Fiend" to "Friend."

  Code:
The Brimstone Friend gestures. Your body is wracked with pain!"
The Ice Friend gestures! The bolt of cold hits you!
You die...

See? Doesn't that feel better?
I am not a very good player. My mouth is a foul pit of LIES. KNOW THIS.

But it's nice and fluffy that you were killed by friends instead of fiends~ Not. This would be like defiling the concept of friendship - which makes it surprisingly appropriate for hell, yes.

Allied fiends should be retitled as friends.

It's settled then. In addition to Crawl Light, we shall fork Crawl Nice.

instead of sending wrath, when you renounce a god, it will send a chaplain to have a conversation about your apostasy and your thoughts on the faith

If I may be serious for a minute?

The game already supports alternate text, right? I mean we've got the elven-speak and the dwarven-speak iirc (unless one of them was pirate-speak and I couldn't tell it apart). Why not actually go for nice-y speak, which is obvious self-parody?

I'd find it hillarious.!

The ogre hits you.
Ouch! That really hurt!
You die...

That sounds really disappointing.
What about the following:

The ogre hits you.
You feel very light.
You leave your body and fly to the stars.
