Why aren't there more crabs?

Maybe some early game crabs that utilize the constriction mechanic, except it would be with pincers. They would be submerged in water. When they do come out to attack the player they could attempt to drag the PC in to shallow water and hold them there where they fight with a penalty. Possibly steam vulnerable. It just seems odd there is one type of crab and it is a fire crab.

That is exactly what crawl needs. More gimmicky submerging water creatures. I will get right on this.

Well I don't think actual crabs make sense, but I do think it would make sense for the fire crab to come in other flavors. At least Ice crab, right? Poison crab? And doesn't everyone like streamed crab?

Presumably, they're in reference to (or at least share a common inspiration with) the magma crabs from Dwarf Fortress. Or those crabs come from here.

Dont misunderstand, more crabs would be fun, fire crabs are one of the more dangerous threats early->mid game. But don't let them swim...

Though I'd be totally cool with more crabs if, and that's a pretty big if - they don't spam their Fill-The-Entire-Room-With-Farts breath 24/7 every turn you're in their sight. (Which is why I hate fire crabs.)

Not in general usage but when one is dealing with an entity (a so-called "moderator") who can change reality then it might be taken as such.

I like Chaos Crabs. Huge clouds of seething chaos blanketed over a large group of varying monsters sounds like it would be hilarious.
