I've tossed out "tedious" as another example. Let's fill up the card with other tavern tropes.

Actually, we can procedurally generate bingo cards, with things like this.

All you need to do is generate a list of words, and change the default 3x3 to the more appropriate 5x5.

Here's the list I've come up with so far. Feel free to edit and improve.

Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup Tarvern Bingo
Spoiler: show
knowledge bots, cryptic minmay-ism, wiki use, wiki criticism, optimal, Grimm and Confidence Interval dadaist thread hijacking, minimum delay, no brainer, pun, bad advice, XuaXua complaint, overpowered, good advice, outright lies given as advice, trunk, stable, wizmode, scumming, streak, YASD, YAVP, 15 rune-er, <foo> should be removed, incomprehensible post, console, tiles, personal attack, suggesting something on the won't do list, sad lonely little YASD or YAVP thread with no replies, new god suggestion, speed run, conduct, early game is the hardest, galehar fixes something, dd offers up another set of tiles, thanks given, thanks accidentally given and then rescinded via post,

(Just copy paste the word table into the block provided. You can't link directly to the generated cards, unfortunately.)

Here's an example of one possible permutation.

In my first draft, I just used people's names. Then I decided that just was too easy and added qualifiers. Feel free to change it to something else, or add a "mageykun makes things up" to the list.

Here's the list, updated with other people's suggestions for easy copy paste.

Spoiler: show
knowledge bots, cryptic minmay-ism, wiki use, wiki criticism, optimal, Grimm and Confidence Interval dadaist thread hijacking, minimum delay, no brainer, pun, bad advice, XuaXua complaint, overpowered, good advice, outright lies given as advice, trunk, stable, wizmode, scumming, streak, YASD, YAVP, 15 rune-er, foo should be removed, incomprehensible post, console, tiles, personal attack, suggesting something on the won't do list, sad lonely little YASD or YAVP thread with no replies, new god suggestion, speed run, conduct, early game is the hardest, galehar swiftly implements suggestion, dd offers up another set of tiles, (non MOHF) thanks given, thanks accidentally given and then rescinded via post, tedious, distortion complaint, unworkable food reform, MOHF thanks, that cool looking artefact is actually junk, shield usefulness debate, dream diary, mageykun makes something up

I decided that XuaXua complaint would still be valid, since any objection he raises would technically be a complaint.

Also, here's a transparent blue recolor of the logo to use as a bingo stamp.

I think I culled out everything from my suggestions that are already on the list.

Nethack

feature request from another game

appeal to win rate

appeal to realism

wild mis-evaluation of resist value

confusion between weapon base damage and damage enchantment

belief that str/dex weighting is meaningful

good advice completely ignored

depth of Orc vs. Lair

badwiki

that thing that's hard for you is one of the easiest things in the game

"role-playing"

nerf casters

nerf melee

nerf ranged

advice given based on removed or nerfed feature

spoilery

Haste nerf

CIP not using available source of Haste

Abyss or Pan grinding

refusal to accept that one's terrible suggestion is terrible

dpeg claims not to be a dev anymore, then makes extensive design proposals

My pick of the funniest. What we really need is an online widget for this that we can have open as we read the Tavern, and a scoreboard.

Where's one about dismissing a suggestion as not fitting the design philosophy or being grindy?

Hours and an edit later: Also, where's complaints about Distortion weapons and/or Oka and Trog gifting them?

All of them get in, barring any that are deemed unsuitable. A link to a bingo card generated was posted up-thread by mageykun, and that way you can have multiple people playing who aren't all using exactly the same words in the same configuration. It adds some randomness, just like normal bingo.

The first ones I'd cull are those that name a specific poster. It seems mean, in at least some cases. Calling out a cliché that's been beaten into the ground by overuse is funny, singling out some random teen for mockery not so much.

"learn 2 play" as a response to a game design complaint/discussion
Item on the "wont-do" list is suggested
Quoting or referencing obscure foreign literature
Mediocre randart in Best/worst artifacts
MiFi or SpEn YAVP
Chei sucks
Suggestion to cut the size of a branch
Unworkable new species suggestion
Thread necro

I fully agree that names should be left out if the gods are so kind as to grant us an actual bingo widget. I chose the names on my sample card carefully though, not randomly: XX and minmay have shown themselves open to a certain degree of argy bargy, galehar and dpeg are not teens and the references to them are neutral or positive, MOHF is an institution, and that's it. My own skin is thick as a prostitute's perineum, so mageykun's dig doesn't bother me.

No presumption. Idle speculation. Unfounded notion that, while typing, lubing is more common than greasing therefore any given person is more likely to receive messages mentioning one than the other.

I have recently, to my considerable consternation, discovered that some people think and act on a basis not directly informed by logic. While initially shocked by this I have decided to be open to the new and am now experimenting with this apparently irrational approach.
