Skills are overpowered.

If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it belongs here. Also, come here if you just need to get hammered.

Skills are overpowered.

Just been looking at some morgues, and just about every victorious character has one thing in common - they all use skills, especially the good players like elynae and elliptic.

It's such a no-brainer - every character that makes it to D:1 has them, even Wanderers. They make it so easy to fight monsters, cast spells and use invocations that it's not surprising that everyone has them.

We really need to think of a way to nerf them, and if that can't be done while maintaining balance, then they should just be removed.

Re: Skills are overpowered.

The problem is that if you remove them than you can't kill anything. Yes they are overpowered but it's a necessary evil.

I've actually been working on a branch of crawl that features the ultimate streamlining, and among the changes is the removal of skills in their entirety (As well as monsters, classes, players, a GUI, and all those other useless features the dev team so erroneously left in the game.).

Crawl Super Light, it's just a random number generator that says whether you won or lost.

No, it's just a random number generator that says that you lost.

It's not even a RNG, it just makes you wait a minute and then prints that you lose.

I've beaten you all to the punch with Crawl Hypertiny, which is you sitting in a chair thinking about how you just lost another game of Crawl. Runs on all systems.

Actually, Crawl Super Light just assumes you know you lost and doesn't even start.

Crawl Super Light Next feature a lot moar choices and interactions, you can now quit the game (ctrl+S) or play (Tab), until you die or win (but mostly die the first 27 000 games).
