If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it belongs here. Also, come here if you just need to get hammered.

The sweet sounds of my internal AC unit chug away, the smooth draw of my cigarette, and my cat's collar bell jingling as he wanders around the garage. And now the keys on my laptop thumping away as I type this message... Oh, here comes the dog... I hear her nails going click clack on the floor. Cat just jumped into a box filled with paper (His 'playground' lol).

I'm currently listening to the whirling of my ceiling fan and the fizzling of my rootbeer.

Slayer is the best - wake up, beat up some people, give them some really good friendly advice afterwards, tell Sol he's a gigantic fool, go back to sleep.

I'm listening to my son crying in an upstairs room when he should be asleep. And I'm thinking I'm going to have to go and get him up, because he doesn't sound happy.

Re: What are you listening to at the moment

See people think that 4'33'' just means "silence", but that piece involves a performer intentionally not performing, and an audience gathered intentionally to hear him not perform. So you're not actually listening to it. By saying you are you just mean "I have no music playing", which is not the same thing.

Ah - but if you make a recording of 4' 33"...and then intentionally don't play the recording...

...but I guess it just wouldn't be the same.

Yes, one aim of the piece is to accentuate the background noise that would accompany any performance. In any case you can buy or download performances of the piece, and I don't see why listening to a recorded version of this piece is in principle different to listening to a recorded version of any other piece. This is clearly not the same as not having any music playing.

I read on wikipedia that a techno remix has been done. That would be worth listening to.

Listening to a recorded version is fine. My point was that you are not listening to a recorded version. You are just not listening to any music and said "4'33" to seem arch and wry.

One day we're going to have to move that thanks button.

I like to play DC with Might and Magic soundtrack on background. Parts 6-7-8 to be precise.

Although, I would like to hear sounds of Dungeon Crawl some day... Some juicy "whacks" and "zaps", echoing footsteps and dripping water, this kind of things.
