yessssssss
do you like any of their other albums? Minstrel in the Gallery is pretty great but I feel like Aqualung and Too Old To Rock 'N' Roll only have a couple good songs (I don't have anything else currently, might get some later)

Re: What are you listening to at the moment

"Broadsword and the Beast" is probably one of the best albums ever. "Crest of a Knave" is very good too, "Farm on the Freeway" is one of my favorite musics from all time. "Heavy Horses" and "Songs from the woods" have a really nice bucolic feel to them, I love listening to it while writing new adventures for my DnD campaign. but "Thick as a Brick" and the new "Thick as a Brick 2" makes me orgasm every single time
EDIT: I love aqualung too, but in comparison, it is just too bland.

Any Jethro Tull fans will want to check out the Bursting Out live album, a great collection of their best performed brilliantly.

I was shopping at an Express and I shazam'd a song I liked on their radio station which resparked my old love for Deep House and that's pretty much what I've been listening to. This is the song:

I've just been listening to a lot of stuff from this genre. Maceo Plex, Beckwith, Dusky, Hot Natured, etc.

I only listened to Songs from the Wood on youtube once, I think I enjoyed it but I can't really base an opinion on that. Maybe I'll buy that one soon.
Aqualung's music isn't bad per se, it's just that the album is so much about the lyrics (on the second half; I like a lot of the first half). You have this conflict between Anderson's god and organised religion, and if one just isn't interested in that conflict the album loses a lot of its charm. Plus, it actually isn't about Anderson's god, it's about how he doesn't like organised religion and it's almost like he is making his own views immune to criticism by never describing them (except when they contrast directly with Christianity), not to mention that his own views would be a more interesting topic than the criticism the album has to offer (which one has all heard before).

I agree. it is a good album, overall (I really love the melody of songs like "cross eyed mary" and "locomotive breath"), but the band had so much more to offer.

Re: What are you listening to at the moment

Ahh Tull, I saw them back in the day as well. During one of the songs in their set, the organ broke down and the music stopped. Ian explained to the crowd that they were having technical difficulties. Then a couple gnomes ran on stage and began to shovel coal in the organ and the music fired up again.

Nowadays I listen mostly to Baroque, I am especially taken with the lute music.

Sigh, I was born in the wrong time, the modern age seems ugly and meaningless.

"Poor, Lisa is crawling out of the pond. Fishies are a life, but not the right one.
Green leafies(a lot of nouns are diminutives in this song) are so pleasing to the eyes, a pink ribbon has stuck to her hair.
Chin-ji-ji-jin(just some sounds...).

She's not drawing conclusions and doesn't hurry to, poor and pale she is silent and depressed.
God cares for her, not everyone is a hero, after all, and her shoes are left under the water.
Chin-ji-ji-jin

Maybe there is a curse on all of you, it's trembling from the chill.
Tomorrow we'll make everything right, if we feel like it. And then every day would be decontaminated.
Chin-ji-ji-jin"

Are you happy, now? It's not easy to express everything literarily, so it's just a straight translation of every word.
