Noob Moves

Just figured I would make another self deprecating post on how bad I am at this game. Anyways, this is for those times when you facepalm yourself after doing a particular boneheaded move. Probably the dumbest in recent memory was forgetting to re-equip a dagger after checking for brands on a stabber. I have a bad habit of just dropping equipped stuff I don't want, and sometimes I forget to equip another weapon. So anyways I was playing a SpEn and walked down some stairs and saw a stabbers paradise. St. Roka sitting there asleep once space away with his crew all asleep too. So yah, I walked up to a sleeping unique and just slapped him across the face. Woke him up and his crew, had to blink away and leave the level for awhile, mostly in shame. So make me feel better, post your most boneheaded moves.

Oh crap, Duv and Dow are both in melee range.

Let's just sit here casting spammals. That'll work fine.

Another time I tried to melee an ogre mage at 20% HP.

Re: Noob Moves

Don't worry, I faceslap dudes all the time as a stabber. I've also been known to rodtab.

I also have a tendency to take several extra steps when sudden danger appears, leading to embarrassment as I realize I've been rushing blindly towards Roxanne or charging towards Louise with Sonja onscreen.

Killing myself with 80-damage legendary spark was also rather embarrassing. =)

They were vampires, so it was a understandable spelling misteak.

It was actually a very ration-al decision.

Somebody change Grimm's forum rank to Punditry Master, because he is in both literal and "Fedhasian" meaning of this word.

That's what you get for trying to challenge a warrior to an honorable duel when your character itself is a sneaky, underhanded, backstabbing cur.

This killed at least the first 5-10 webtiles characters I made. Eventually you get so used to it I often forget I once had the life/mana bars in the middle at all times ;)

I need to tell myself every single day to stop holding tab. I'll do it with anyone. MuWz with a +0 +0 Dagger? TABTABTABTAB D:1 CLEAR IN 40 SECONDS YEAAAA! =D

I always forget to memorize my spells as soon as I can. Next thing I know, I'm at 3HP next to some Adder on D:2 and my best escape spell is... magic dart.

Oh, and IDing every item on D:1 before I even have any scrolls ID'd. I usually walk into D:2 with a -3 ring of strength and a ring of hunger or similar

What was the noob move in this case, drinking from the sparkling fountain without a known potion of curing, or not continuing to drink from it in the hopes of getting curing? (Assuming it didn't dry up or lose its magic.)

(Nope, not guilty of either of those, ever. Nosirree.)

Drinking from sparkling fountains at all is generally not a good idea.

I was in fact trying to drink more, to cure the Rotting. Felid are way to frail to my taste.
