Sacrificing Shops for Piety

I know there's the badidea on Henzell of burning down a bookstore with Trog. I feel that it's not truely a bad idea.

I propose a shop consisting solely of things your god wants sacrificed could be used for piety gain.
I suspect Ely, Nemelex, and Trog are the ones I think would get the most use out of this, so this is a slight buff.

To prevent shop scumming, you could only sac from shops you haven't bought from, and the piety gain isn't much more than say, a single burnt spellbook.
That way it is a slight buff but mostly just a flavor thing for the barbarians/pacifists that want to see shops burn.

Re: Sacrificing Shops for Piety

Then-again, raiding these shops by buying them out are a good way to transform excess gold, which none of the gods you mention accept, into piety.

Re: Sacrificing Shops for Piety

I don't care if I only get a single book burn's worth of piety. I don't care if there's no reward for it at all. Or even a cost! Troglodytes should totally be able to burn down book stores. For the awesomeness. XD

Preferably acting more like inner flame (explosion w/ flame clouds) than the single flame cloud that we get from individual books. Since you know, there's a lot more burning.

Someone needs to start working on a tile for a smoldering, burnt out shell of a store.

I'm with magey, really. I really just want to see shops burn, piety be damned. If it was just about piety I'd burn my gold for it. It'd also be awesome to have an angry mob yelling at you for burning down their shop

Not if they're the pitchfork-wielding traditional type of angry mob. Pitchforks have reaching since 0.10.

Are we really thinking big enough? Sacrifice Level. The entire level burns. Flames everywhere.

You're stopping short. Why burn the bookstores when you can put the torch to Sif/Vehumet altars

I'd totally trade massive piety gain for getting smited / put under pennance for desecration

Let's face the truth. Trog is the fascist god. He burns books. He immunizes his followers against "incorrect thought" (magic). He punishes people who behave "the wrong way" (use magic). He sends squads of bullyboys to help out his underlings. He produces only guns, never butter.

Trolls should be able to sacrifice small and tiny monsters just by standing over them.
It's convenient, just like sacrificing shops, and will be a fun addition.

Actually, I can imagine followers of Zin "censoring" "unclean" books (by burning them) and punishing "purveyors of filth" (by burning down their shops.)

Don't forget the burning of the books of religions he doesn't believe in. Also burning books should spark protests by intelligent "monsters". I don't believe they are actually monsters though, it's just propaganda by the gods. All the gods. This is why I am going to vote for Cthulhu in the upcoming election. Thank you for sitting through this rambling post that probably doesn't make much sense.

Plus he doesn't like nukes. Read all his positions here. http://www.cthulhu.org/cthulhu/positions.html and a bio here http://www.cthulhu.org/cthulhu/index.html
Cthulhu for president, why vote for the lesser of two evils.

And yet he never gets invited to the debates. The media's conspiring against him, clearly showing their anti-eldritch bias.

That too. The media is speciest. I should really write them a letter.

I would say that's going off topic. But that's not a bad idea for a god, it's a bit "metagamey" though.
