YES. I just recently had Dowan, Duvessa, and Menkaure in one 3x3 room. Gawd I love Call Canine Familiar. Sigmund was elsewhere on the level.

The bat. If it's asleep above water, how come it doesn't fall in and drown?

I don't think it's the wall because I think it'd be there whether there was a wall adjacent or not. The problem with the ceiling idea is that I, playing as a teeny tiny Spriggan, can stab a sleeping bat - and how could I do that if it was hanging high up on the wall...

No, ladies and gentlemen (and Lola, who may categorize herself as she sees fit), for your diversion and amazement I present to you: the world's only, never-before-seen, floating bat!

I hate to burst your little comedy bubble there but Zzz doesn't mean "asleep", it means "unaware of your presence".

In console it says "sleeping," or "dormant" if undead. I think demons are "dormant" too.

Ha! The bat is sleeping. And floating.

Anyway, the "unaware of your presence" thing doesn't seem quite right since monsters are always still when they are marked Zzz (unless, occasionally, confused) - which suggests sleep rather than merely not paying attention.

Crawl, like most roguelikes, uses a 2.5-D engine like the original Doom. Even though there's the illusion of height, for targeting purposes the z-axis doesn't come into play...even with melee weapons.

The International Committee of Dungeon Crawling declared Boris to be a plague on society and stuck him in a maximum-security prison.

(it's faded out because when I saw him in the vault, I decided I didn't need to do it after all and ran away. It was only afterwards that I realized I wanted to take a picture)

But it is used sometimes: you can't pick things up off the floor when you're levitating, right?

Right but spriggans are nimble as fuck they can probably jump up and climb whatever the hell they want. Bats, ogres, etc.

It only spawns very rarely outside of Slime. In my last game, I had two altars to Jiyva besides the one on Slime:6 - one on D:13 and one at the entrance.

Anyway, I had this ... interesting ... sight in the Orcish Mines recently.
...yeah. Needless to say, I got out of there (and came back later through the wall, because that's sorta an Earth Elementalist thing to do)

No, that would be Menkaure, an ice beast, and Grinder, and D:5 would not be amazingly out of depth for an ice beast. On the other hand if you can get to a corridor with breathing room and could conjure up some flame clouds...

unhallucination.png

...except when it didn't.

This happened every other keypress; it didn't matter if the key did anything, they changed from orcs to objects and back again (including when I pressed print screen to get the shot). It happened almost every time I went onto Orc:3 and a few other levels, and caused me to scratch my head in bewilderment whenever it occurred.

I'm playing a fairly recent (week-old-ish) build of Trunk, which may account for it.
