I've got a robe of the archmagi on a berserker right now. Because it's +3 and currently the best robe available.

Terrible sight: I have a trove asking for a manual of fighting. Fighting. How terrible is that?

I also just found a Xom altar vault I'd never seen before filled with Kobolds. One of them left a quickblade of chaos. I know it's suicide, but that's so hilariously awesome I'm tempted to wield it anyways.

I walked down the stairs to a new level and saw a water moccasin (fleeing). It was severely wounded. I can't find what hit it. How could it wander into a blade trap before the level is generated?

I had an 8 headed hydra walk down a stair right in front of me. So they can spawn that way too.

Re: Odd things sighted in dungeon.

Found the exit to a labyrinth.
Looked around a bit, noticed that there were three doors.
Since I'm playing a spellcaster, I don't want to open the door to be nose-to-nose with the minotaur, so I stand to one side and shout (tt) to try to get it out...

You shout for attention! You hear a bellow!

..wait... no minotaur

I looked again, one door was open, and the minotaur was nowhere to be found.
I decided to go nearer... and found that there was a teleport trap right outside the open door.
The minotaur must have been teleported away

I didn't think to take this until after I used Apportation, but the Abyssal Rune and an exit to the Abyss spawned within sight of each other! I saw the exit first and almost didn't see the rune, which would have made me leave without it. For reference, is was in the upper-right just above the water.

Really weird and you're not sure why in that there aren't normally uniques in there, or really weird and you're not sure why it exists, or really weird and you're not sure why it's wierd, or really wok you know what I could go on forever like this, so I'ma go ahead and shut up.

Still, further explanation might not be remiss.

If it was wounded when it fell through a shaft, it would be in the same condition when you arrived on the level it got shafted to.

For example, I had a fleeing worm with sticky flame on it fall through a shaft. 3 dungeon levels later, I came down the stairs to see the worm onscreen instantly burn to cinders.

Worst trove ever.
(For your information, that trove was quite literally empty when I enter it. I even used cTele to get to the other side of glass wall, only to find it's empty too. Good thing the entry portal "just" asked for a +4 dragon armour...)

At that point, I would've copied the save file, opened up wizard mode, and revealed the level, just to be sure.

Also, why are you carrying that many items going into a trove? Dump some items outside so you have room to pick everything up (you know, assuming items actually appear).

So I come down a set of stairs. I find a secret door! I open it. I find a few more! So I keep going, merely opening secret doors (the wall's beginning to look like Swiss cheese at this point) thinking that this is kind of fun... when the crowd of doors ends in a room.

Filled with elephants. And dire elephants. And one hellephant, who promptly blinked behind me to block escape.

Hats off to whoever came up with that one. Nasty. I barely made it out alive!
