This happened despite me being at full Zin piety.
Can anyone explain why?

I'm rather annoyed because I was really happy with my mutations (robust 1, electricity resistance, MP-powered wands), which I'd locked in with the power of Zin, and the zot trap was blocking of an area.

With hindsight, I should have blasted through the stone with Shatter. But I thought the worst that could happen was the accidental summoning of a fiend. (I'm a formicid, so no paralysis.)

I'm not 100% sure, but the mutation immunity from Zin piety doesn't extend to mutations from glow, only the Malmutate enemy ability or similar. Zot traps, miscasts, and !mystical force! can all glow your char to the point of mutating. Actually, I remember posting about Zin getting angry over mutation during a trip through one of the Hell branches.

While on topic, can glow-induced mutations break through Rmut 3? It kind of feels like something I've read before, somewhere.
