Don't you just love it when something like this happens...

I'm 2 runes in now. XL19. The Robe of resistance was shop bought. Positive energy just dropped in vaults.

surely there were also other armour options?

I generally stick to robes, this is a deep elf blaster caster!

I'd normally expect to find a robe of archmagi in Orc, or at least some kind of artefact robe... but here, nothing!

I can understand wanting Archmagi on a character like this; I'm usually very happy when I find archmagi on a blaster caster. But when I don't find archmagi, there's steam scales, acid scales, swamp scales, +3 leather armour of rF+, occasionally good artefact robes (usually artefact robes aren't worth much), robe or resistance... All of which seem (to me) approximately equally good.

Yeah, I guess there are options. The point I was making is that I had nothing but vanilla robes up to XL18 which sucked!

My last run I didn't encounter any kind of gloves that had positive enchantments until after my first two runes. I did find two hilariously negative artefact gloves. A minus 1 with minus stats and multiple resistances and a minus - 5 with only flight. I even open up vaulted doors to get one of these crazily bad pairs.
