How do Ghost moths mate? If they are invisible and can't see invisible that must make finding each other very difficult. As an amateur naturalist that is taking a class for my certification this stuck in my head.

Do we only see the male of the Species and the females are very rare. If true, and the females had see invisible this would let the female chose the mates without being mobbed like ducks. If what we see is the females then maybe the males are rare and are visible and have see invisible. This way only the strongest males would mature and the weak would be culled by other monsters.

Just won a game and my brain is running a little overboard.

They reproduce asexually via mitosis

They take chaos-branded hits until they get duplicated or die, whichever happens first.
Another possible explanation would be blind dating.

Non-funny answer: there are some animal species in our world that are blind, and that won't stop them from reproducing. There are other ways of finding your mate, like sounds, smells, pheromones and whatnot.

During the very short mating season, the males molt and become visible.

They're actually ghosts. A pseudoundead transformation of the ordinary moth. Ghost moths are made, not born.

They are actually constantly trying to mate and because they can't see their partners they are just poking around with their sexual organs. Too bad their sexual organs cause stat drain on PCs.

Thank you, from now onwards I'm considering Sinv and a tactical nuke to burn them from afar as absolutely mandatory both in Spider and Zot.

I know their description text contains "vile interdimensional predators", but you didn't need to take it in this direction.

About the visibility problem, since they are interdimensional, they just go to salt and see each other's silhouette in the clouds.

Reminds me of how some female bagworms stay in their bags all day and show no particular effort to mate (~30% of the females die unmated in some species, which is beyond unthinkable for any other insect), so males have telescoping abdomens and need to stretch into the female bag and somehow find her genital opening by poking around.

And by stretch I really mean stretch, these abdomens become three times their regular size. Sometimes they will fail to find the female, get entangled in the bag, and die.
