ignores obvious elemental resistance (it's OK, players won't notice!)
smite targeted

prevents player from using items

to be fair, many of these date back to pre-DCSS, and shock serpents ignoring rElec was a bug

The one I really despise is the dream sheep sleep ability ignoring MR. This seems like exactly what MR should be for ("Affects your ability to resist the effects of enchantments and similar magic directed at you." says the manual), and it is not communicated to the player in any way. You can argue that dream sheep are kind of weak, but I've had the fun experience of going downstairs to a pack of bees and meliai in the open, nopeing back up and down somewhere else, and finding myself in the middle of a dream sheep pack and two death yak packs. I found this put them in quite another light, and way up in my worst monster ranking (right after meliai and bees).
