Repeat your speedrun 15 times until you do. But honestly if you just run straight across a floor it probably only takes about 60 steps or so to run from the left to the right, which gives you a 13-tile tall line across which should contain a stairs down about half the time I'd guess. This is assuming there's a relatively open layout which lets you run straight across - of course layouts with lots of walls/maze areas will take longer. But I'd argue most fairly open floors can be crossed in about 50-100 turns, x6 = 450 turns. So it isn't unreasonable that you could go down this fast, but 1) bad layouts and 2) fighting monsters slow it down. Obviously if you have extra magic mapping, use them, but you probably aren't going to have 20 mapping scrolls.
I mean I know for a fact you've got faster speed runs than I do, but even I've done some very fast decents:
- Code:
33744 | Tar:1 | Entered Level 1 of Tartarus
34743 | Tar:7 | Entered Level 7 of Tartarus
35340 | Geh:1 | Entered Level 1 of Gehenna
35644 | Geh:7 | Entered Level 7 of Gehenna
36068 | Dis:1 | Entered Level 1 of the Iron City of Dis
36493 | Dis:7 | Entered Level 7 of the Iron City of Dis
36910 | Coc:1 | Entered Level 1 of Cocytus
37741 | Coc:7 | Entered Level 7 of Cocytus
So at a fairly slow 40k turn speedrun, I did tartus in 999 (very bad), Gehenna in 304 (nice), dis in 425 (good), and cocytus in 831 (bad). I'd say 500 is an average you should be expecting, not really an impressive pace. With good luck you could be looking at 300 turns or possibly even less.
