It's easy! Just wear the Ring of Shadows and your halo is cancelled out. I never would have thought to do this, and probably neither did anyone else. This tv came up on the Discord server and it was surprising until the log was checked afterwards.

I assume it also means that it is possible to be invisible this way also.

Kind of. I tried the potion and spell of invisibility, and it won't let me cast them 'Your divine halo glows too radiantly to become invisible'. But if I renounce TSO, become invisible then use wizmode to get TSO at 200 piety again, I am truly invisible (the status light is blue with ring of shadows on, and gray with it off). So this is legitimately a bug, since the game is preventing me from doing something that actually DOES have benefit.

Oughtn't TSO hate the Ring of Shadows because it makes umbra?

Lol, I mentioned something about this about a month ago back before I could register an account here at the Tavern. Definitely seems like the auras cancel out and leaves just the Umbra which doesn't really do you any good.

I don't think umbra is evil in the ~crawl lore~. Dith gives you umbra and isn't an evil god.

Probably it should, with fear of fire and immunity to torment in shadow form it is similar to vampire IMHO.
