A Square Font for Vault Design

I have made a made a monospaced font where every glyph is square and centered horizontally for creating vault .des files in a text editor.

Here are two samples, first with Consolas, a monospaced font where glyphs are taller than they are wide.

And here with my new font.

At the cost of wide kerning in the tags and lua section, the map proportions are what tiles players will see. The main difficulty in this project was this kerning. Compared to previous efforts, this is much more legible.

Download the font here: https://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/1491670/sophistry-sans-modular-2-1-1

Alas the font that I cloned at FontStruct.com did not have the extended character sets that would allow console players to use this font for gameplay. I'd look for such a font if I were to do this again, but personally I am a tiles player and only use ASCII to read and write vault files. Anyone who'd like to take on that task, I'll be happy to give advice on using FontStruct. I used just the free version since it did what I wanted to do with it.

That's much more readable, I feel like my eyes kinda glaze over looking at these normally.

Even though I'm a console-only player, I will say that the person who creates a web-based GUI vault editor which uses tiles tiles and requires no knowledge of .des formatting will go down in crawl history as a legend.

That doesn't seem to be the correct link.

I appreciate that link. I'd found a Java implementation of that, or something similar, via Google or maybe documentation, but I couldn't get it to work.

I suppose the next step is to put it online and allow members of the community to save vaults and rate each other's vaults.

The options to do this will be called "upvault" and "downvault", right?

Hey, thank you for this font! Is it bitmap font or a scalable one?
