This is very fair and I'm enjoying it

It's actually so fun I'm not even going to report this on Mantis or check if it's been reported before, I'll just shitpost on tavern instead. Daeva didn't move by the way, although of course I have no way of proving it.

Yeah well, I guess the line of fire is not symmetrical. If you flip the trace around you'll notice that it goes around the Daeva from the other direction.

From your position:
3 hex east to daeva
1 hex n.e.
2 hex east to shining eye not able to hit it because daeva blocks it.

from the position of the shining eye
3 hexes west to 1 hex north of daeva
1 hex s.w.
2 hex west hitting you :)

Algorithm would be the same in both cases.

EDIT: same as Sprucery

Oh I know how this works, I'm just saying it's exciting and well communicated to the player.

It's certainly very exciting.

This is probably a lot of work, but a possible fix would be to switch the start and end coordinates in the code whenever tracing a path between the player and a tile in los (for casting, throwing, etc)

I wonder if it would be feasible to show both traces, from you to the target and from the target to you.
