If Int gave MR
Common monsters spells that check MR are:
confuse, slow, paralysis, petrify.
All of these spells are more dangerous for spellcasters than for warriors. Confuse negates spellcasting, slow makes getting away more difficult, which is a big deal if your MP are limited, and paralysis and petrify hit low AC characters much harder.
So I thought, maybe INT could give a MR bonus? Something like each INT point could give 3 MR. Each + in the % screen is 40 MR. In practice, PCs would have a 60 MR bonus at 20 int (one ring and a half) and a 90 MR bonus at 30 int (a bit more than two rings).
Otherwise, it could be simplified to "having more than 15 int gives you a 40 MR bonus".
