BS: species with timid/no divine wraith upon leaving

If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it belongs here. Also, come here if you just need to get hammered.

BS: species with timid/no divine wraith upon leaving

As stated in title. Switching gods seems to be impractical decision until late game (and in some cases, ever - such as with Jiyva), but it might be a powerful option if it only cost piety.
  • Divine wraith seems to be a mechanic that prevents players from some forms of scumming, such as joining Okawaru, TSO or Trog only for gifts.
  • Maybe it's worth adding to felids. Fe don't use most types of equipment, and they lack equipment options, which clears most options for scumming. Besides, ability to pick a god more freely might balance their lack of options.

  • Some gods offer freebies upon joining (Gozag, Nemelex, Kikubaaduqha for monks, Lugonu, Uskayaw). I'm not sure if it is a problem. If it is, consequence-less switching might be limited to once per every few levels.
  • Jiyva's last ability is actually a problem because it essentially means a free rune. Maybe it shouldn't unlock vaults until player has 3-14 other runes, or something.

A species with this gimmick was proposed and tested previously (Lacertilians), but eventually rejected. The problem is being able to switch Gods isn't innately interesting or useful.

I would not be keen on adding another feature to Fe. In my view the inability to wield/wear any items is enough by itself for a species.

As chequers wrote, just no-wrath is a little light for a dedicated species. It might of course be possible to expand the proposal somehow, by allowing the species to cherry-pick abilities, or get powers for maxing piety, etc.

Due to the very disparate nature of the gods, it would probably lead to a good number of strange interactions. A species full of strange special cases would probably not be a step in the right direction.
