To Frank Booth

Why do you prefer Pabst Blue Ribbon to Heineken?

I had to try PBR just because you so strictly told it was better. But it wasn't. In fact, it was probably the most water-tasting beer I have ever poured down my throat. Just look how your friend Ben drank it. He was being polite pretending your beer was good. Polite or just suave.

Re: To Frank Booth

I always got the impression it was more about Heineken being "hoity-toity foreign crap" than about it being the worse beer, the implication being that people who drink Heineken are trying to impress people with how fancy they are.

*I* don't live in a world where Heineken is fancy beer, but I would believe that Frank does.

Counter-point: I have never in my life had a Heineken that didn't taste like it was pre-skunked. PBR at least just doesn't taste like much of anything.

It's clearly optimal to avoid both. Remember, you don't have to drink every beer.

Would you consider PBR the Mara of beer?

It's probably more like Harold. Time to retire.

You guys, it won a blue ribbon. That's the greatest of all ribbons. Not just any beer could win a blue ribbon.

I don't know about you, but if I want ribbons I don't buy beer. And vice versa.
