Why tho?

If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it belongs here. Also, come here if you just need to get hammered.

Why tho?

While the Macabre Finger Necklace is a VERY convenient item to have, why on Earth would anyone make a finger necklace? Maybe it's for the same reason as the Toenail Golem: "Some people have way too much time on their hands."

Duh... But still, you have eight viable digits to use. Why would you pick a finger off of the ground?

Re: Why tho?

rings are limited by the limbs those fingers belong to, not those fingers themselves, which is why octopodes get 8. presumably because the finger belonged to someone else and was attached to a 3rd arm, it can channel a ring's power without issue, even without the arm there(presumably the amulet's magic has something to do with not needing the arm)

also bc it's a vidgame

True. It's videogame logic.

Maybe crawl characters had a bunch of fingers chopped off in battle.

Just be happy it's a macabre finger necklace and not an "amulet of cock ring fun gone wrong".
In Germany they used to cut away thumbs of dead people and carry them around as tokens of good luck. Well, at least, so it was explained to me as origin for the "thumb press" good luck thing.

Okay... so at least there is a partial reference to history... case closed.

I always thought that the ring finger was the only finger that could apply the effects of a magical ring, and that the finger necklace was explicitly a ring finger on an amulet.
