A single piece of equipment thats usable (and trash). And in an earlier icecave Gauntlets of war. Maybe some more of the rare type portals can get some form of acquirement code so they suck a bit less?

Fewer equipment slots means less usable equipment. That's the price of being an octopode. Cheer up; if you've made in this far, you're well en route to statue form and eight rings.

Use Gozag with Octopodes so you can get more good rings. Then you won't feel bad about this sort of thing.
