I searched a tiny bit and didn't find a particular thread for reporting shocking shaft outcomes. With imagery if you can, but either way I thought it might be fun to have a collection?

Here's one to start.

Slid down from Orc: 1, obviously. I usually worry more about teleport scrolls landing in this kind of situation, but here we are...

Had no more tele. Got 3 or 4 blinks out before getting smitten. Dang I was headed in a vaguely open direction too.

I played 5 consecutive games the other day. Out of those 5, I was shafted 3 floors, 3 floors, 3 floors, 3 floors and 2 floors.

Getting shafted 3 floors down 4 games in a row is the pits. I almost rage quit the fifth, but made it to V:3.

My fortunately well-armored Ghoul of Oka just got shafted from Lair 3 all the way down to Lair 6.

There wasn't too much in sight immediately, but soon it was a gauntlet of all the usual suspects: Komodo dragons, wyverns, the occasional hydra, wolf pack, scattered spriggans, vampire mosquitoes, frogs, and some black mamba. Thankfully, didn't see many yaks or elephants yet. But it took a mess of scrolls before I could find a defensible position, and then some close calls before finishing off the onslaught. Stairs took forever to find.

That character suffered a YASD on U:1 with 2 runes. I failed to recognize the danger when I saw a great orb of eyes. Instead of invoking Trog's Hand I did something else. Then a rakshasa copied the GOoE and suddenly I was paralysed. Of course at that point a yaktaur joined in and I watched helplessly as my GhBe was shot down. Stupid, stupid me.
