Why does air strike checks enemy AC but not player AC?

Some spells (or their mob versions) just seem to be biased to give mobs advantages.

There are others, although I don't know them all off the top of my head.

It might be partly on the assumption that monsters won't always choose those spells or won't figure out how to use them the most wisely. I dunno.

The game told me so:
http://lazy-life.ddo.jp:8080/morgue/nky ... 132736.txt
  Code:
AC: 48

  Code:
451519 nkym the Hoplite (level 24, -12/154 HPs)
Began as a Gargoyle Berserker on Feb 5, 2017.
Was a High Priest of Trog.
             Killed by the air
             ... invoked by a titan
              (62 damage)
... on level 3 of the Depths.
The game lasted 02:07:08 (47805 turns).

  Code:
beem: titan (C) | Spd: 10 | HD: 20 | HP: 84-126 | AC/EV: 10/3 | Dam: 55 | doors, fighter, spellcaster, see invisible | Res: magic(180), elec+++, drown | XP: 2586 | Sp: b.lightning (3d24), minor healing (2d10+3), airstrike (0-50) | Sz: Giant | Int: human.

Now try killing a curse skull with air strike.

Mystery solved. Stop flying when around airstrikers.

this is not my morgue and even if fly makes you take 2 times more damage show me a morgue that died to 100 damage air strike.

You seem to be unaware how AC works, it can reduce damage by exactly 0 no matter how high AC you have

But it was the morgue that you posted as evidence for your point. And flight is indeed the reason that the titan (airstrike 0-50) did 60 points of damage.

AC damage reduction is roughly -d(AC), not -AC.
