Re: I think I found something worth checking out today.

It's kind of like an inverse progress quest. It's still an rpg stripped down to it's basics, with a heavy focus on grinding. The big difference is progress quest cuts out the player, while this requires frenzied clicking and mouse wiggling for an hour. It cuts out game side interactions with the player (descriptions, graphics, plot, etc) instead of player side interactions with the game.

...and I suppose the goal is a little different. Here, the goal is to beat all the bosses. Progress quest is more about the perpetual quest to afford better gear.

Personally I'm not much of that. I find the obligatory emo-ness of many animes VERY annoying. Just like going through a stack of photographs, any ways of peering into our past tends to makes us more sad than happy. I don't think one should really do that often, still things that remind you of ages past (like this video) are sometimes nice imo. A bitter sweet feeling, let's say.

The Trees
by Philip Larkin

The trees are coming into leaf
Like something almost being said;
The recent buds relax and spread,
Their greenness is a kind of grief.

Is it that they are born again
And we grow old? No, they die too,
Their yearly trick of looking new
Is written down in rings of grain.

Yet still the unresting castles thresh
In fullgrown thickness every May.
Last year is dead, they seem to say,
Begin afresh, afresh, afresh.

Larkin is often very good. He missed out any mention of spriggan druids making trees attack you, though.

The trees are reaching to attack
And strangle you to painful death.
A spriggan druid cast a spell,
And animated them to fight.

Is there a chance that you will win
Against these trees? No, you are f***ed.
The spriggan's got your number, chief,
And soon your game will reach its end.

The branches scramble, brambles scratch,
A measly spriggan's will fulfilled:
He waves his hands, your blood is spilled,
Your bar is red, your limbs detach.

The potent plants begin to grab,
Constrict like octopodes. It's plain:
You're screwed; your spirit will remain,
A tepid testament to Tab.

You wield your whip, you fiercely flog -
To no avail. The branded bark
Retaliates - and all is dark:
Begin with Trog, with Trog, with Trog.

(I tabbed some green rats in the L8 spriggan forest on my DrWz. Missed the druid entering the scene, and tab stopped with my HP at 3. Great character down the toilet :()
