"Eustachio the Eustachio Skeleton will no longer appear in anyone’s game."

Pour a drink out for the poor, maligned skelly that just wanted to be everyone's friend. :(

It's from the September 2nd Dev Blog. I was attempting to make a silly.

I mean, what is Eustachio the Eustachio Skeleton? You can raise skeleton Eustachio and he gets special name or something?

There are a few of these...IDK how many are still around. Aizul the Aizul Skeleton and Arachne the Arachne Zombie are the ones I remember most. (I don't guess Arachne's can change nothing else is that species, at all).

Chunks used to be divided by species so you would get "chunk of kobold meat" as a unique item compared to "chunk of human meat". This happened with uniques, too, so you could eat a chunk of sigmund or raise a zombie sigmund instead of the generic species title you get in new versions.

So does Eustachio still exist, but a skeleton derived from his corpse no longer has a special name? Or is Eustachio altogether gone, living and dead?

Oh, I didn't know that, cos I pretty much never use raise skeleton/undead.

It was a bug.

Before the update a (for example) Orc Warlord would create a tougher skeleton than an Orc Knight, but both would just be named "orc skeleton" because it was based off of the race. There was a change so that they would be called "orc warlord skeleton", "orc knight skeleton", etc, but this was bugged for uniques.
If you killed Sigmund and then raised his corpse you would have "Sigmund the Sigmund zombie".
The fixed that bug so it would just be (IIRC) "Sigmund the zombie", which is what that patch note is about.

'sigmund the human zombie', but otherwise dead-on. (so to speak.) :)
