Repetitive Stress Injuries

I gotta take a break from Crawl. I've done a lot of hunter and mage types recently and [f][.] and [z][b][.] over and over have my left hand aflame. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I've died a plenty of times trying to do DsAr 8 rune run (52 times holy crap just realized that), and now my butt is on fire constantly when I'm trying to do it again.

Seriously though:
Using Tab as a hunter is an okay solution. And for mages I use macros like za, zb etc bound to `-0 keys.

I can't play crawl on my desktop because something about how I hold my hands when I'm playing makes my right hand rebel against the rest of my body.

Crawl's the only game I've ever had this problem with though, bizarrely enough, and I'm fine if I play on my laptop.

I always used to set playtime limit of an hour, but for mental rather than physical reasons. I imagine it might help though with repetitive strain.

It's for this very reason that I never ever use tab for anything. It's in a weird spot for my hand so it hurts to try to use that key.

I map ; to tab (well, to hit_closest_nomove, actually) that way its beween my manual movement (hjkl) and weapon switching (,) i use my left hand to bind common spells (1234) between the two mappings i hardly have to move my hands at all while i play, i am convinced this helps.

I do this advertantly to train myself to never lose again. Pain is the greatest teacher.
