Double Posting?

On some forums I have seen, If you double post (make 2 posts in a row instead of adding the content of the second to the end of the first via editing), both the moderators and other posters get extremely angry. However, I see people do this on this forum often. Is it forbidden?

You broke his rhythm.

If someone were spamming short posts in a row and posting in the forums as if it were a chat room or something then sure, I'd step in, but the occasional double post isn't a big deal.

Yeah, it's fine. This is one post about a topic, written on the 25th.

It's the 3rd now, and I've gotten another idea, distinct from the earlier one. I'm posting again.

People think they're being clever by multiposting in this thread, but what they don't realize is they're reducing their all-important thanks-to-posts ratio.

It's fine just as long as you don't remove all the thanks he's ever given...

The thanking economy would collapse overnight. I'm too big to fail.

Thanking is an economy? What can you buy with your thanks? Is there a store? A place I can exchange them for goods and services? Oooh, like maybe some free artefacts in my current game? Because that'd be pretty rad.

It's linked up to the RNG in game, as long as you play online. Your thank/have thanked ratio is applied as a decimal multiplier to your in game 'luck' score, which Xom uses whenever the dice are rolled. A > 1 luck score means your rolls go better, a < 1 luck score makes them worse.

Unfortunately, I screwed up, and named myself after an enemy in crawl, so now he gets my luck score, and benefits from my thanks. You may have noticed Dowan is less of a pushover than he used to be, and now you know why. Thank responsibly!
