Maybe best layout for Elf:3 I've ever seen. Narrow passage and a stairs just to cheese all the cheese in the world.
Treasure room still counts as a vault, right?

You know those vaults in labyrinths with an empty wand of teleportation or digging and a skeleton? One time I saw one where the skeleton had a keyboard next to it.

You know, I totally didn't realize it was a disco hall when I saw it in my MiFi run. It just looked weird. And now it clicks that it was totally a disco hall. How I didn't get it, I dunno. Maybe because the flashing lights were really freaking annoying.

Pretty much all of Pakellas's vaults that are more involved than "abstract geometric shape + altar" are rad as hell. Shame they're attached to Pakellas tho.

That vault's called spin cycle and it was initially designed when teleport control still existed. The middle area is supposed to be a relatively safe area to rest up, since the rest of the level is typically so brutal. As far as I know, you can still randomly teleport into the center.

yeah; the shops in that one are also way, way more expensive than a regular shop. IIRC the shops' names are inspired by an achewood joke, so that's cool

Someone posted an image of a Formicid who got into the center via shafting. For bonus fun, the vault was on D:15 so he couldn't shaft back out.

That's dumb/funny but when I met that vault for the first time, I was really disappointed with the empty wand. I expected the skeleton to belong to a person who starved to death while walking to the wand.

This is, what, the Defended Temple? I dunno, but I like it. I got to see Megabats for the first time ever. Didn't even know they existed! Sadly the artefact was kinda useless.
EDIT:
Ran into this a floor or two later. Sealed me in with some not really tough monsters, let me choose a reward. (I got the Captain's Cutless which would've been nice if I used Short Blades.) I really liked the concept behind this vault. (Particularly since the whole floor was full of uniques, like six or seven.)

That vault was inspired by Tomb Raider. It used to lock the player in behind stone when they walked a certain point past the entrance, with the higher tier mummies waking up from the sarcophagi. It got removed due to the amount of spoilers, but then got despoilered a bunch and readded.

In that vault you get to take one of 2 items after fighting some stuff, and the other is dropped into lava.

You're thinking of a different Gozag vault; the one with the Platinum Reserve is an early Gozag overflow vault that's smaller. There's lots of Gozag altar vaults with shops in them, it's thematic apparently?!

If I recall correctly, this map has a lot of loot in all those small rooms. I think I've seen quite a few artifact rings/amulets on this floor.
