Too many food shops!

That feeling when after a game of bad shops you get 8 shops in V:5 - and 5 of them are food... Seriously we could use a reduction in food shops in late-late game!

(extremely tavern voice) I see no reason late game shops should be exempt from rules of shop generation that exist everywhere else in the game. You just want more stuff for free.

How about a universal reduction in food shops by 25%?

No it wouldn't, come on. Food should be removed, but food shops should stay as the dud shops they always were. Better yet, food could continue to exist, but be useless to everyone, and be no less common in the dungeon! And for some inexplicable reason, you can't take it off autopickup.

That's actually pretty good. It means that you would still be able to bread swing.

Leave food but get rid of food shops, they are pointless but also a massive waste, scroll of random uselessness is a waste but bit huge, half of the shops you get have nothing of value in them anyway

My point was exactly the same. After ~60 wins I played a DEFE^Sif. It was a speedrun and channeling was heavily used, so I run out of food in Spider:4 and was forced to run to the D to buy some food. I even didn't got the rune, it was a real humiliation.

more reason why dc:pt is superior: pizza shops are actually a relief when you see them, not disappointment (like most of regular crawl) and they are a resource if you can`t use them like if your`re a spriggan with the s- s-syner... the synerg... the good for the spriggans vegan god, because they can firebomb the mothafuckaz for piety. but devs evendencually steal all my good dieas. they sometimes ideas and don`t even to use them.

You know, I always wonder to myself why mimics still exist within the game, and I had an idea: replace mimics with food shops!

"The brightly glowing crystal plate armour giggles and becomes Lolhuhu's Food Shop!"

Ooohhh, and what about a buff to death cobs? They could fill your inventory with corn!

What about food traps that drop random comestibles into your inventory and instantly put you at starving?

I can smell the future meaningfulness of food from here, like freshly baked bread.

Add shops of random uselessness that only contain items you can't use, like potions of blood or naga bardings.

And always give them a stack of 100 scrolls of random ueselessness at the top.

My deep dwarf necromancer who has been spamming major destruction and agony all game with 4 pip spell hunger would like a word...

Seriously, I'm using amulet of gourmand right now to stave off starvation. It's a good thing the devs were naive enough to make food generate in the abyss or I might actually CARE about the hunger clock right now.

Having said that, even one food shop would save me about 5 hours of RL working farming permafood... curse these fucking ring shoppes.
