Implement IVAN's pantheon system of god worship:
-you are effectively worshipping every god simultaneously
-they all have their own likes and dislikes that often conflict with at least one other god
-you can receive wrath from any god who hates you at any moment
-you have to pray to a god to have them act, and the action they take cannot be chosen by the player (but is not necessarily random)
-the gods that hate you can send dwarf suicide bombers, and extreme hatred gets you veteran dwarf suicide bombers

This is better as new god IMHO (like Lugonu desecrated all altars of other gods). I wouldn't like to change all gods be Xom-like.

Spoiler: show
Yes, I like to use words like "like" and alike :)

It would need a much smaller amount of gods for that to work. Like 2 or 3.

Something very like it works quite well in POWDER, albeit without the suicide bombers.

GDD thread about long range stabbing brought me an idea of "long time shot". You aim a tile and it takes 3 turns to shoot at the tile but the monster who is in that tile dies instantly in an explosion. So you can be a stealthy sniper but you cannot kill everything this way because of noise. Also it makes corridors, summons and portal projectile more powerful which is probably bad.

New cursed jewelry!

Ring of fir: causes lignificationitis.
Ring of lice: like negative wizardry, because they are very distracting! And itchy! Urrrgh!
Ring of rent: You have to pay to carry this ring. If you run out of money, ood debt collectors!
Amulet of Arm: your left arm disappears the moment you put on the amulet.

Dislocation: Your shoulder hurts terribly!

Blaming: The +0 shortsword glows bright red and starts spewing random accusations against you! (yellow sound)

Training: You now can only train the skill of the cursed weapon!

Paint: The illusion dissolves. It's not a longsword, it's a brush!

Bring back "Traps and Doors" skill for teleportation/shaft traps. Or even "Luck" skill which will help with teleportation landing, teleportation delays, multiple uniques per floor, overpowered player ghosts, randart properties etc.

This! I have a good formula for it: you have a (T&D skill) / (Dungeon floor number) chance for detecting/avoiding a trap. So on D:1, 1 level is enough for certain detection, on D:2 you need 2 levels etc. For floors outside of D, the level is the same as in the action table etc.

We need more places to spend exp anyway!

Or more power and less control. Like Be in heavy armour.

Add new potion: potion of 'roids. When you drink it, you have a 50-50 chance of developing massive muscles (+10 str, Formicid wielding), or to get haemorrhoids (sickness bouts, occasional bleeding status, start losing health if you spend more than 10 turns on the same tile, acquire tail mutation).

Source? Because immolation means to destroy something in a large fire, or to burn a person in a large fire, or to kill one's self in ritual sacrifice (usually but not necessarily by fire). Note the continual fire theme and the distinct lack of flour and salt.

I wonder if you didnt get confused by a recipe for frying chicken?

Nope, mola salsa was Latin for a kind of flour used ritually (mola also meant millstone). Since it was sprinkled on sacrifical victims (immolatio), the name for this action came to mean "to sacrifice something or someone". The fire thing only exists in English, apparently, although I didn't check all languages... Probably because of the holocaust kind of sacrifice (literally, holocaust means "completely burnt").

Slightly offtopic but it really bothered me when someone recently pointed out that protoss in starcraft 2 have nipples. They are an odd race which has never really been all that well explained biologically, but they have no mouths and are supposed to basically get nutrition as plants do - through sunlight, photosynthesis, etc. Leaving aside that I don't think sunlight would ever be calorically dense enough to support animal life, if they have no mouths they clearly can't suck on a nipple...

P.S. They talk through their hair. Not even kidding.

Some food-themed features:

Amulet of the Snackrobat:
Auto-travel always stops when a food ration is spotted. The ration automatically apports itself into your pack.

Spriggan Baker's Embrace:
Casting this spell causes a spellpower-dependent # of your food rations to automatically envelop you with a bready, meaty AND fruity armour coating. Monsters of animal intelligence will spend any turns while adjacent to you, trying to lick and chew off the armour until you're back to your non-buffed AC#.

The +12 Shadow Dragon Leg of "Didn't See THAT Coming":
Maces & Flails category. This deliciously seasoned, bone-in dragon leg has an extra 'to-hit' bonus due to the dark shadowy skin still attached to the leg.

Demigods: Greek heroes were demigods. Some gods helped them, and some gods tried to kill them.

As a result, demigods have all of the god's passives activated (as with full piety). However, they also are constantly under one god's wrath. The wrath-god rotates after a certain number of turns (not based on XP or such).

New spell: "Chain (Store) Lightning".

Random floors will have clusters of four shops near one another.
- 3 of the shops are labeled "Crawl-Mart".
- 1 is named "Mom & Pop's Block, Chop & Iron-Shot Shop."

As soon as the shop cluster appears in line-of-sight:
- The three Crawl-Marts chain-lightning the hapless small business owner.
- 3 turns later, an "Available for Lease" shingle sign hangs on the door.
- 1 Turn later, voila, "Crawl-Mart #4".

Hopefully by this point, RNJesus will have bequeathed thee a scroll of "Summon Outraged Community Members", complete with picket signs. This fortunate drop puts a much-needed stop to the heart-wrenching drop of Mom & Pop's Chop, Block & Iron Shot Shop.

I won't forget to. (Spoken as if I knew how to code this stuff.) I'd also make sure to give Mom & Pop a savvy marketing campaign that attempts to justify their prices.

- "Our yak jerky is sustainably sourced from even-tempered, usually-friendly beasts who eat high-quality oklob stalks. 8.231% chance of gaining permanent rCorr when you take a bite."

- "Potions of brilliance lovingly distilled using triple shots of espresso, and just that subtle splash of meth for 5 extra turns of Swiftness, high-powered housekeeping, or just talking your opponent to death like some post-apocalyptic county-fair auctioneer."

- "Our Staves of Air come mounted with local artisan's hand-crafted Fidget Spinners mounted atop them. Tornado --> Faster-Fidgety-Spinner-Spinning --> Mo' Betta Mo' Stronger Tornado. A bargain at ANY price."

Some more stupid spells, since I was inspired:

Shiftness - Air/Charms - Each time the player casts a spell, they shout the name of their attack, causing Noise equal to a shout. Causes all message logs for 1dSpellpower turns to appear in all caps.

Lightning Dolt - Air/Conjuration/Summoning - Summons a perma-confused Nikola.

Deflect Fissiles - Air/Charms - Player becomes immune to nuclear radiation for 2dSpellpower turns.

Degeneration - Hexes/Necromancy - Causes target enemy to invert their natural healing. Instead of gaining HP per turns, they lose HP per turns for X duration. This spell ignores AC. Extra fun against Trolls.

Magic Fart - Conjuration/Poison - You get the idea.

Throw Fame - Hexes - Target enemy now looks like you and other enemies think they ARE you. Draws aggro to hit enemy for X turns.

Conjure Fame - Transmutation/Charms - Spawns some gold. Also spawns a Paparazzi on the current level who will chase you down and take photos, blinding you. Multiple casts spawn more and more Paparazzis. Paparazzis are worth no XP and drop nothing on death.

Erratic Discharge - Air/Conjuration/Charms - For X turns, have a Y% chance to cast Static Discharge each turn at random. It will always hit you first, then try to arc to enemies. Better have some rElec!

Bone Arrow - Necromancy/Conjuration - Like Stone Arrow, but it consumes a corpse or skeleton from nearby. Larger corpses do more damage. Can be cast on a live skeleton, which will be shot in the direction that you choose and takes damage from impact. Arrow originates from the square that the "ammo" is on, allowing sniping around corners.

Iskendurun's Mystic Mast - Conjuration/Charms - Gives a speed boost while in deep water. You still can't step through deep water without the rest of the boat, though.

Stoneforged Servitor - Conjuration/Summoning - Creates a statue. Statues have a small chance of knowing Statue Form when spawned.

Lehudib's Crystal Year - Hexes/Earth - Works like Petrification. Can be resisted with MR. When petrified by LCY ("crystallized"), the crystallized creature is immune to all damage and status effects and cannot heal. Spell wears off after one in-game year. Crystallized creatures give no XP and drop no items. If used on creatures already made of a hard material (stone, iron, etc), adds 2d4 to their melee attacks ("The iron golem sprouts sharp crystal spikes from its hide! It seems undeterred.")

Andblast - Conjuration - Deals huge damage to anything whose ASCII tile is an ampersand. Does not affect other creatures.

Borgnjor's Tile Clutch - Earth/Transmutations - Grab a 3x3 selection of dungeon tiles and store it. Casting the spell again later replaces the tiles you cast it on with the tiles you Clutched earlier. Can only Clutch one set of tiles at a time, and they are consumed when placing them later.

Ozocobu's Refrigerator - Conjuration/Ice - Summons a fridge where aimed. Fridges drop out of the sky and deal physical damage, reduced by AC. After dropping, the fridge opens, revealing (50% chance) a handful of rations, or (50% chance) a handful of Ugly Things / Very Ugly Things hostile to the player.

Control Dead - Necromancy - All corpses in LOS become allied to the player. Does not work on Undead.

Greater Beckoning - Translocation - Like Lesser Beckoning, but the player waves their arms around emphatically in the game log.

Snakes to Sticks - Transmutation - Consumes a live snake from the player's inventory and converts it into a stack of arrows.

Old idea! (well not exactly the same but hey)
  Code:
Bone Shards
Necromancy Level: 3
This spell uses the bones of a skeleton (or similar materials: the rigid exoskeleton of an insect, for example) to dispense a lethal spray of slicing fragments, allowing its caster to dispense with conjurations in favour of necromancy alone to provide a low-level yet very powerful offensive spell. The use of a large and heavy skeleton (by wielding it) amplifies this spell's effect.

Scarf of Repulsion: Leave a trail of noxious fumes behind you.
