Benemut is the new rMut

If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it belongs here. Also, come here if you just need to get hammered.

Benemut is the new rMut

My first Felid winner (FeNe) killed 7 orbs of fire without rMut (no shit) and didn't get a single mutation from them. Of course I used a lot of allies but still there were several moments when a malmutate attempt failed due to my cat already having 6 mutations (five from !benemut, one from helix). I was surprised that existing mutations protected me so well. Or was I just lucky...

Re: Benemut is the new rMut

You should try Xom. Not only he gave my recent felid a lot of mutations including the rMut one, but also teleninja'd the Orb for me so that i didn't even have to fight orbs of fire at all.

  Code:
 85132 | Zot:5    | XOM: 1-stop teleportation journey
 85135 | Zot:5    | Got the Orb of Zot
 85137 | Zot:5    | Noticed an ancient lich
 85138 | Zot:5    | Noticed an orb of fire
 85139 | Zot:5    | Yermak: Xom rocks
 85139 | Zot:5    | XOM: 1-stop teleportation journey
Offline greaterplayer (who cares). I don't always play online, but when i do, i streak felids.

Xom did something helpful? I think you just discovered a major bug.

Wait, I thought that only random Mut gave you a small percent (6%?) increase of rMut.

You are telling me that BeneMut also protects from further Mutation ?

Every mutation you have affects how easily it is to get further mutated. Sounds like it also applies to malmutate.

Sequell> mutation[2/2]: When being mutated (not by a god or potion of beneficial mutation), you have a (current mutations)/15 chance of: (2/3 of the time): cancel the mutation, (1/3 of the time): remove a random mutation. This means your weirdness list is limited to about 20-24 lines; sorry, you can't have every non-exclusive mutation in the game.

Xom helps you more than he harms. Like by the end of the game your chaos knight who stuck with Xom will have a reealllly good mutation set.

Xom gets a bad rap just because he occasionally kills you.

At least he doesn't do it on purpose, right?
