One of the really nice things about crawl compared to other roguelikes is how smoothly the interface stuff flows. Thanks to whoever put in the time to tweak this; it is probably my favorite of the recent changes. I know this stuff cannot be as fun as putting in new gods, monsters, items, and so on.

edit: also, Arrhythmia, I am pretty sure the answer to that is yes.

Eating off the floor has been available for a while if I'm not mistaken. In fact I think if you are standing on food and hold food in your inventory, the game will first offer you the floor food to eat.

I have died a lot dropping something I ended up needing, going to find an identify scroll, and forgetting to pick it up again. "Oh shit, I just had 13 potions of heal wounds?! WHat the hell... oh yeah."
