What other thinky, go-at-your-own-pace stuff do you Tavern patrons play? There's probably a lot of 4x players and "sim city" style games I suspect? (whatever that genre's called, with Skyline and Gnomoria and etc)

Oh Galaxy Trucker. The first stage of the game is so good, but the second stage is so bad. Someone needs to attach that first stage to a better game.

I don't have a lot of experience with Vlaada games other than GT and Dungeon Lords but I understand he loves this sort of thing. Multiple mini games in one big game. Dungeon Lords is huge on that. Love the game but it can be a brain burner with the mini games.

GT is ok, it's fun watching other peoples ships get destroyed.

Agreed, that is fun, but more often than not in my experience, the person with the best ship gets all the events and has no issues while the other players just sit and watch. If being in the lead was more deadly, that'd be more interesting.

it's always bugged me and i've never understood it and i'd actually probably enjoy kol if they'd let me play more of it then doling it out like it's fucking ww2 rationing

That's part of the challenge is finding the best food and booze to increase your adventures. I guess it's better for people that like to play games in short bursts...

I used to play a lot of Bookworm, but I can't be bothered to get it off my old HD, so here's a screenshot from Google. Just pretend it's on like level 60, not in the middle of a really bad move, and there are a couple layers of sapphire and diamond tiles at the bottom so that I have a lot of extra turns to get rid of burning tiles.

Bookworm Adventures was good too. Then EA decided they hadn't ruined enough IPs yet.

I come across Bookworm on some of the "grandma computers" that I work on. I guess I should try it! Just from the looks, it reminds me of Clockwords: Prelude.

Trust me once you git gud and can squeeze 200+ adventures out of day one of a run it stops being enjoyable and becomes a horrible life-sucking chore

Anyone hyped for Civ VI?

I think the Civ5 is great as it is .
The only thing that annoys me is that you can't switch between leaders and see what are they have to trade by moving direction buttons and clicking the pacts to renew them instantly.

The graphics of new Civ is simplified/candizied/pokemonified and thus I think it could be much more simple game than Civ5 - which IMHO have tons of replayability and every single game is different.

Civ5 with better interface, reandom events (like volcano eruptions in Civ4), more dramatic end-game and a slighlty more enhanced espionage would enhance this game to the level of pure billiance.
