If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it belongs here. Also, come here if you just need to get hammered.

God Proposal: Primordius, god of Elemental Purity

Primordius, God of Elemental Purity

Upon worshiping Primordius, players must choose an element: (Fire, Ice, Lightning) %element

Primordius Appreciates:
- Casting Spells of %element
- Killing enemies with %element, really appreciates killing the antithesis of %element
- Evoking items of %element

Primoridus Deprecates:
- Casting/Memorizing Spells, killing enemies, evoking items not of %element
- Abandonment

Other Conduct:
Worshipers of Primordius may switch their worship to Qazlal without suffering wrath

Piety level (*): "Initiate of Fire/Ice/Lightning"
- You gain r%element+
- You gain +1 to the spell aptitude of %element

Piety level (**): "Elementalist"
- You can create a cloud of %element; costs 2 mana, small piety (strength and duration based on Invocations)

Piety level (***): "Purist"
- +2 spell aptitude modifier to %element school
- You can instantly teleport to any %element cloud in LoS; costs 2 mana, smallish piety, consumes the cloud (BUT, leaves a cloud behind whenever you blink/tele, regardless of source)

Piety level (****): "%elementStorm"
- Your attacks are now branded with %element (this overrides weapon brands and also applies to unarmed attacks)
- You gain %element spell enhancer

(Strength of both based on Invocations)

Piety level (*****): "Force of Nature"
- No more spell hunger for spells of the appropriate school
- You are immune to %element

Piety level (******): "Avatar of %element"
- You may breathe a cone of %element; costs mana, piety

Someone mentioned something in another god thread about being able to punch things with electric fists, and it got me to thinking...

Re: God Proposal: Primordius, god of Elemental Purity

Deprecating killing enemies in general would mean that you're constantly losing piety with this god. There's no element with enough enemies associated to make that piety gain condition work well. In order to make this work you'd also need to define carefully what is and isn't associated with fire, ice, and electricity; we already do this with fire and Dith, and many people already dislike Dith's fire conducts. This god would amplify that situation by making almost everything in the game either good or bad based on semi-arbitrary relationships to elements.

The design of the god feels very narrow -- everything is fire!. A significant percentage of the god's powers are identical to getting an enhancer staff of the element you choose.

Also, getting cheap, reliable, better-than-normal controlled blink from Conjure Flame at *** seems pretty strong, making it unclear why you'd choose another option.

Re: God Proposal: Primordius, god of Elemental Purity

1. Why no earth? Attacks could be branded with Vorpal, instead of resistances you get SH and AC

2. The deprecation section is completely insane. Just make it over time and be done with it.

3. My ability suggestions to better differentiate from Qaz:

Piety level (*): "Initiate of Fire/Ice/Lightning"
- You gain +1 to the spell aptitude of %element

Piety level (**): "Elementalist"
- You gain r%element+
- You can create an elemental burst based on your element costs 2 mana, small piety (strength and duration based on Invocations)
-- Fire: If the space is empty, creates a cloud. If it isn't, deals damage.
-- Ice: Slows the target. At high invo and low monster HD, can freeze the enemy.
-- Earth: Causes a duststorm- deals low damage and blinds the enemy
-- Air: Smite targetted.

Piety level (***): "Purist"
- +2 spell aptitude modifier to %element school

Piety level (****): "%elementStorm"
- Unarmed attacks are now branded with %element. You may brand a weapon with %element. This can be done multiple times per game, but costs substantial piety and makes the weapon into an artefact.
- You gain %element spell enhancer
(Strength of both based on Invocations)

Piety level (*****): "Force of Nature"
- No more spell hunger for spells of the appropriate school

Piety level (******): "Avatar of %element"
- You can turn into an elemental form costs mana, massive piety, drains and exhausts when complete.
-- Fire form: rF+, rC-, immunity to fire clouds. Deals damage to neighboring enemies each turn, evaporates nearby water.
-- Ice form: rC+, rF-, rPois. Immunity to freezing clouds. Has a slowing aura, slain enemies can turn to freezing clouds.
-- Air form: +EV, shroud of golubria effect that recharges on a short cooldown when broken. All weapon attacks can reach.
-- Earth form: +AC, rNeg. Floating shield effect that degrades on blocking but recharges slowly. All attacks cleave.
Three wins: Gargoyle Earth Elementalist of Ash, Ogre Fighter of Ru, Deep Dwarf Fighter of Makhleb (0.16 bugbuild :( )

Cool concept! Few issues that i can see:

1- the 3 star controlled passage of golubria is super strong... Should be large piety if u insist on keeping it

2- +2 apt is crazy... Change to +1 please

I'd prefer if Qazlal gave you the branded attack (stack with the player's weapon brand instead of overwriting it) and cloud teleport thing (replace elemental force because elemental force is weird and bad). Those are the only sorta unique things about this god, and it'd make Qazlal less awful.
