The game has a few mostly inconsequential attack flavors such as trampling. The player often corners or buttresses himself, and even when trampled, it is often to the player's advantage (e.g. fewer hits from other monsters). But monsters pulling the player out of their position has great potential to place players in a bad situation, and far more effectively compromises the player's safety. Monsters don't corner themselves like players do, so 99% of the time, the only obstacle to pulling would be other monsters. The code for this kind of attack is largely in the game already: red devils need to find a space to retreat to, and a tentacle or vine needs to try to drag a target to its own position. Years have passed since trampling was given to a bunch of monsters, and sirens and starspawn began tugging players. Hence, the idea is not new, but I can't find a trace of someone attempting to give it to monsters directly, and I'm surprised it's not in the game, considering the kind of stuff that gets added.
