Summoning/Charm Spell: Animate Weapon

Level 3-4
You summon your wielded melee weapon to fight for you. The current weapon melds inside the caster's hand(s), making it impossible to switch to other weapons.

Spectral weapon is a dps boost for melee hybrids. Animate weapon is a summon that will fight for you independant of what you do and restrain you from fighting.

See, it combines pre-0.15 Tukima's and current Spectral Weapon by retaining the tedium of oldTukima's and removing the benefits of Spectral Weapon!

Well "Summon Dancing Weapon" without regard to weapons in your inventory wouldn't be bad. Random range of base types and range of possible brands (including none) based on spellpower? I'd be interested in trying that.

It doesnt, it is the very opposite. You dont share damage, animated weapon doesnt mimic your attacks, mainly because you cant attack while it is active. You cant switch weapons after the spell is cast, you can only have one animated weapon at once.

It is a summoning spell that works and is as powerful as the best weapon the dungeon generated, that you can wield. I didnt expect this would be so hard to understand, but i suggest stop trying to compare it to something else might help, if you want to compare it to something, compare it to other summon spells that go chase stuff and kill it for you, because thats all it does.

dynast, the problem is that we already have a spell that's better than that for melee dudes (except UC, esp. trolls, for whom I guess this is a weird stealth buff), and for everyone else it would probably be less effective than canine familiar with the majority of weapons, and getting really good effect out of it would likely require having a good 2h weapon, tying up your hands (preventing enhancer staves or stat sticks or non-UC melee) and preventing shields.

I would support a god built around making weapons fly around you, awesomely, in a similar way, but that's probably another topic.

...But its not for melee dudes. Yes there is a lot of better summoning spells and here is where enters crazy talk, maybe those other spells are too good? Lets not discuss it further from that, i just want to highlight again, its a summoning spell with power dependant on gear, not weapon fighting, not spellpower.

It is basically the old blade card from nemelex, you are summoning a weapon that has your equipped weapon's characteristics, the melding part is to avoid exploits, tedious or scummy behavior.

This is literally old Tukima's Dance. It's pretty unlikely to come back in a form similar to its old form.

Sorry, it was "The Dance" card. Also, litterally the same as old tukima huh? I cannot handle the amount of ignorance in this topic anymore, if you want to say the spell is bad or weak or problematic for some reason im fine with it, but saying its the same as something i actually went on to research about before coming up with this idea, specifically to avoid making it the same, is starting to feel a little insulting.

Enchantment Level: 3
This spell causes a weapon held in the caster's hand to dance into the air and strike the caster's enemies. It will not function on magical staves and certain willful artefacts.

IT IS EXACTLY LIKE THAT, except you dont have to pick your weapon on the floor after the duration is over, you cant have more than one weapon animated at a time, the animated weapon wont attack targets outside range AND IT IS A FUCKING SUMMONING SPELL.

What happens when you try to attack while the spell is active? Do you get "You can't do that" or does the spell end?
