The +5 Leather Armour of Death Resistance {Int+2 Slay+4 Stl-}, found in an actual game of magipi. This would be the best armour ever if only the name could be taken literally!

Ok, so it's not so great for stabbity-stabbity, but still pretty nice to swap to if the victim wakes up. But I'm not sure it's worth spending the XP to level up staves, especially on a char like a SpEn that has so many other needs for XP.

On a MfGl that was using +5 ring mail {rC+ Str-3 Dex+4 Slay+3} so it still gives me the rC+ I need, and gives up Slay+3 to get +2AC, +2EV, MR+, Str+3, Dex+1, and Int+3!

Okawaru gifted it to you on level 3 of the Lair of Beasts.

As bonus ignite blood reached final level around Lair 2. Never got Hellfire on crossbow-using character, but I guess it's same feel. Every tab pressed is some guy on edge of los getting erased while setting aflame everything around. Like some rocket launcher - very satisfactory.
Got banished pretty soon and it feels like DoomRL: running, demons, explosions and guts everywhere.

Do troves accept artefacts? I thought it had to be the specific item asked for, which in this case would mean a vanilla GDA enchanted to exactly +2.

They accept any superset of the requested item so the requirements listed are the minimum (it may have additional brands/enchantments/artifact attirbutes, etc.)

That is in fact what led to plain "dragon armour" being renamed "fire dragon armour". People assumed a trove wanting a "+2 dragon armour" would accept a +2 steam dragon armour because "steam dragon armour" sounds like a specific kind of "dragon armour". The monsters themselves weren't renamed until a year and a half later.
